actually it looks like the 2 "pipe ends" have to be connected first and then either a plate is welded on to cover the gap or the pipes "telescope" in to close the space.

I don't know if has been mentioned before but the white wings (bones) for the hub are stored at the Red Hook Container Terminal along Degraw St between Columbia and Van Brunt Sts.

Three shipping containers now on site. Any ideas what they're going to be used for? Also, the final keystone segment has been set in place.

They're going to paint the entire thing once it's done.

So the structure on the right hand side is the temporary box which will be removed once the other tracks are finished?

All rafters and purlins should be in place by the end of August, per schedule.

The keystone looks so small on earthcam but it's massive in that pic!

i'm still wondering how they bolted it in. it looks like someone has to actually crawl inside the arch to place the bolts.

Looking at the pic above, I think that doesn't need to happen. The bolts are probably casted into the floor and there are openings in the bottom of the steel structure.

Not likely. It's expected to rain almost all week.

^ It's only supposed to rain Tuesday and possibly Friday... Tomorrow is looking beautiful and the other days seem fine so they have no excuse not to get some up.

Does this mean the most of the structure will be completed by then?

When will they start installing the glass panels?
