Oh dear, those figures are all inaccurate. Nonetheless, for a scale model, I believe it is more than enough.

So you're saying the measurements in that article are incorrect? I simply need the measurements for a small model im making for my new WTC complex model.

I need the measurements for a 1:1 scale model I'm making on Minecraft. I'm making the whole complex on a server with some other people.

For a scale model, use those measurements, there isn't really a difference between those figures and the real ones, besides, I am unable to disclose the info you are requesting, and please excuse my scrutiny, I tend to obsess with detail.

Are you guys sure it's only 46m to the tip? In the pictures with workers in them it looks like it's that tall without the wings already, though that's just guesswork on my part. Definitely looks taller.

Why on one side it goes from short to tall and on the other side it goes from tall to short. Never noticed that

Because it stands at an angle to the towers planned to surround it, and if it was any other way it'd be poking into them.

Also creates the "flying bird" effect.

Westfield’s Oculus at WTC moving closer to full occupancy

"80% of retail brands either signed leases or are in final talks

June 09, 2014 11:00AM

Westfield Group said roughly 80 percent of the 150 retail brands set to fill an underground mall at the World Trade Center have either signed leases or are close to finalizing deals.

Big-name brands such as shoe-centric Stuart Weitzman and British men’s clothier Turnbull & Asser have inked leases at the two-level shopping gallery, known as the Oculus. Meanwhile, several retailers are in advanced negotiations with Westfield. Those include Apple, Bobbi Brown, Kate Spade New York and Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. French fashion brands The Kooples and Zadig & Voltaire, and Swedish designer Acne Studios were set to take space there, as The Real Deal reported in April.

The 365,000-square-foot, $1.4 billion project is slated to open next year..."

They will be mirror versions of one another. Identical, but flipped.

I'm not so sure about that.. if you take a closer look at the southern and northern pieces already erected, the pieces starting from the western side (northern) seem to grow much faster in size than the eastern ones.. especially if you look at the pieces on the ground which will be placed next.

But maybe this is just an optical illusion..

edit: btw, what is the reason that they use these additional fixture pieces on the western end, but not on the eastern side so far..?

That is correct, neither sections are symmetrical to each other. Northern half has larger rafters. There is NO major equal piece in this project.Even the abutments are different, western abutment is located at a lower level than eastern, remember Church is elevated by a couple of feet above Greenwich.

This will truly become a new icon for NYC when it opens, no wonder retailers are snatching up space there. Great job as always Otie!

Thanks for the clarification, guys. I guess I should have said "more or less" a mirror image instead of talking out of my ass.
