So I have a question. Someone told me that the rafters on the south side going to be slightly shorter than the ones on the north? I wanted to ask here to confirm that that is true.

In this diagram the rafter's space is the same size on both sides. But how will it really be? The southern ones shorter?

That's close enough, I'd say.

Major delay is inminent. Skanska needs to hurry up and install the remaining rafters before September, the City is going to close sections of Broadway for works related to water infrastrucure, which means no transportation of longes rafters until the City reopens the avenue. I do no expect this finished until the end of the year, a year after the original schedule set by Turner, the Construction Manager. Oh well.

Delays are a common thing at the WTC, we should be used to them by now. It's sad really.

Couldn't they delay the opening of Greenwich, Fulton and Liberty Streets and use them as storage depots for the extra long rafters?

Expect a photograph from the same angle posted on WTCProgress.

Why do they have to come in via Broadway? Couldn't they come in thru Greenwich or West St.?

Will this possibly push back the Hub's opening date?

From a slightly different angle, and in the next decade, you could capture the works of four starchitects in one photo.

Why are they putting fins on the transportation hub and then removing them?

Sometimes they do fit checks to see if the parts match up right or the temporary steel parts match up right and if they don't they take the part off and do mods on the ground before putting it back.

It is complicated, and one of a kind. The steel you see here is not common on most construction projects. I wouldn't say a mess, though.
