I assume they located the rafter tip by laser tracker

I assume they located the tip of rafter 6 by laser tracker and used the L-channel steel to lock it in place. They can cut and re-align the purlin in place. I think it is an expedited fix.

It must be frustrating for the iron workers to have to redo this.

Rafters on both the NW and SE corners going in. NW side has only enough scaffolding for another 2 pieces and since they haven't erected more, doesn't it make sense for them to focus on the NE corner before returning to the NW side to save time? I know Otie said no (see p. 213) so we'll have to wait for the next delivery of pieces to find out for sure.

As Otie has mentioned, the rafter installation goes from shortest to longest on both sides.

I know, weidncol, but why would they erect scaffolding on the other corners now only to not use them?

For future use, for once the time comes to start installing over there.

I think the center part will have a different kind of scaffolding, possibly something to do with those big square frames they have stacked up. I wonder if those are supposed to be attached to the sides of the transition segments and they have these little platforms arranged at an angle to hang right where the rafters attach. We'll see soon I hope.

BTW I love those little platforms that hang from the rafters where the purlins attach. It'll be really cool when they get to the very long ones and they are 100+ feet out.

I love seeing that angle. The swoop of the Transporation Hub and the arch of the Brookfield Place atrium really complement one another. Can't wait to see that view when it's done.

Follow this generally from afar but this page I see the 'wings' are not symmetrical ? I thought they started off short at each end and grew to the middle...? anyhow...you learn something new every day and I am glad to see New York getting it on...haaa 4th July...one day that I can remember being in New York...the WTC lines were too long so I went back up mid town, passing the Ed Sullivan Theatre someone was asking questions about the show and giving free tickets to that evenings taping of the David Letterman show...I got one...walked around Central Park then back to Times Square...asked another guy standing alone to take my pic in the square...I took his pic as well on his camera...I said I was going to the Lettermen Show and heck..he was as well...we did...then came out in early evening...the fireworks on the Hudson River were soon to start...He was Dutch ? anyhow we bought beer...he said if cops stopped us I should keep quiet and he talk in Dutch...so we drank beer and watched the fireworks...great...New York is amazing...that wasn't my last trip there but it was at this time in 2000...You don't know what you have till it's gone. I hope to return and not bother you with my reminisces...but then ?

This is where skylight machinery will go, railings will go on top of the supports.

Why is the main section of the hub gray while the rafters are white? Is the main section going to be painted or is some kind of film going to be added or removed?
