Agreed, but they'll be taken down once the retail in that corridor opens, so it's only temporary.

That stuff is temporary, until the stores open. It does break up the blinding whiteness.

It looks like the cranes took over each other's sides. Or did they do that before today already?

I get what what they're trying to do with these quotes, trying to paint New York as a fun place to be, but they just seem awkward and immature in that location. They should have more thought-provoking and inspiring quotes about New York there, like from this link I just pulled from Google: http://thoughtcatalog.com/charlie-mo...new-york-city/

The east crane was doing both for a little while (since the south side was behind the north side), but I think yesterday was the first day the west crane took over the south side.

Nice...one more rafter installed after these two, and it will be 50% done.

One more rafter and we've reached the halfway mark!

EDIT: Mercenary beat me to it.

Exciting nonetheless! Things are finally picking up pace...

I know exciting stuff!! They can certainly make the halfway milestone today as #32 North is ready to be lifted as well. I figure they will all be up around the end of October, maybe a little earlier.

It looks like the rafters that had to be welded together on site will be installed soon starting with #33 North.

A lot will depend on if welding together two sections for the longer rafters delays anything. It's certainly another step in the process but hopefully they can do it off the critical path so it doesn't slow things down.

Two more segments have arrived It's amazing how fast the south end has caught up after the earlier misalignment. Off-topic but how is it that this discussion is so long while the one for Calatrava's new Florida Polytechnic University campus is only 4 pages?

I wonder how they're gonna deal with the rafter-unloading area getting progressively smaller, and the rafters themselves only getting bigger and bigger.
