Both walls (right and left) are temporary walls made from plywood that will obviously be removed.

Everyone gets upset about the cost...look at the Pyramids in Egypt or the Colosseum in Rome or whatever...as time moves on it is either magnificent or crap and demolished soon after...move on...they should have kept Pennsylvania Station but that's not important right now...Who looks at the bill decades later...we just love it, we usually love it...for free ; )

I have to say as a person who lives as far from this place as anyone...I saw it right there as the original WTC in 2000...I returned and stood solemn on sept 11 2007 on the steps of the Millennium Hilton when it was a hole in the ground. and look every day and wonder at what rises here...goodonya...

My god!that guy is right,i love him!that quote is so accurate!i understand taxpayers but come on guys did someone tell you that you were going to live in NY for a couple bucks???
For those who do not want to pay the price i would say:move to St. Louis Missouri! When i visit NY with my family,we pay at least 400 dollars for a night in a middle class hotel and we think it is worth it!Only a looser can complain about the price tag just because the WTC transportation hub is gonna bring people in the city like the Eiffel tower in Paris!!!
Calatrava is a visionary,as was Ghery when he designed the Bilbao museum or Brunelleschi when he engineered Florence cathedral dome.

To paint the whole thing, will they simply use the orange "I-dunno-what-theyr-called" platforms and paint the rafters one by one? Does anyone know what kind of paint they will be using? Is it the same one used for airplanes?
