I love seeing pictures like that. Really gives the whole thing scale.

More seriously...it is obvious in that case(organic architecture)but every single piece of decent architecture is a sculpture/piece of art!
What makes Calatrava really "unique" is the fact that he is both an artist(sculptor) and a brilliant polytechnician...
The hub is with no doubt a future NY landmark and Santiago has already one foot in the legend of architecture history

Please look at this picture. Taken this morning on my way to work. Had to scale it down significantly, therefore the quality is also down.

Is this my illusion or not? The marked span looks significantly narrower than the rest of them.

you're right, also in the last two you can be seen that at the beginning they widen, and at the end they shrink

This is a portion of what's opening December; the B2 corridor running south of Oculus all the way to 4 WTC.

WTC Transportation Hub North South Retail Concourse

Nope, elevation +296'-0", so that would be B1.

Wow really. Pretty good progress on it considering that level isn't opening until September 2015.

Do you know if they still plan on opening access to PATH Hall to and from Towers 2 and 4 in December? As well as from 1WTC? Platform B looks like it still had a lot of work left to do judging from that recent pic ftom WTCPROGRESS, only 2 months left.

Some documents are saying January now, some others December. An exact date will be released as we get closer to the timeframe.

Another rafter delivered for south end. Is this the second-to-last one?

I think as more and more progress is made, more and more people who were skeptic about the WTC masterplan from a design perspective are going to eat their words. Memorial Park is stunning, especially the pools, the hub is turning out to be a masterpiece, and one of the two best towers of the complex is rising again. The Calatrava church at the VSC is amazing, I am hoping for a stunner of a performing arts center, then all we need is an absolutely breathtaking 5WTC design if anything ever comes of that. It will be the best block on the planet.

You are right, it is not spot on. There are others as well, if you look rightward, that are not perfectly aligned.

But I see this work like the face of a human being: it doesn't have to be "perfect" to be beautiful!
