One thing that is driving me mad about this new redesign of WFC and winter garden - Brookfield wants to remove the grand marble staircase altogether, that is a main feature of the garden, to accommodate new shops and a supermarket.

Honestly I think this will be a travesty to allow such thing. I love the stairs there. Something needs to be changed about these plans and stairs should be saved.

They're murdering the WFC. I'll never like it anymore.

It looks like they're zipping up the roof of the PATH hall. Since it's the part of the whole WTC complex that I'm actually planning to use on a regular basis, it's nice to see substantial progress on it.

what I see in the renders is that they are not gonna destroy the stairs

but also I see it...

in this, the stairs still in their place

and in this render, is see a second floor that in the next render desapears..

in this where the stairs are I see an escalators

then I found this, and I saw that the project is destroy the stairs

I hope that the architects of the project decide to change it... because it is a crime

Daaaaammmmnnn. That definitely is a crime. The stairs are one of the best things about the winter garden. Getting rid of all the bleachers around a football stadium. I guess now whenever there's a concert, they're going to just have to set up foldable chairs or something. Really sad.

Okay, I have a theory that I hope is right. My theory is that they simply removed the stairs in that rendering, just for the sake of the rendering. What I mean is, look at how in the rendering below...

...how they "removed" almost all of the trees from the plaza. Their reason for doing this was understandably to allow one to have a clear unobstructed view of the outer portion of the new winter gardens add-on. Maybe in the same way, they "removed" the stairs from the one rendering in order to show how the new add-on is positioned in relation to the rest of the winter gardens. Hopefully it was just something they did for the sake of the render, not that they actually plan on removing the stairs (just like they obviously don't plan on removing all of those trees in the render above).

Well, enough of the Winter Garden. Here's a new piece that just went up east of the tracks on the main hall side.

lots of progress on the hub, the east truss is almost finished, time for the super columns to get on their feet..
moreover the arches on the west side are finally installed which have been waiting there for some time..

new huge part arrived..

Wow, it takes a 10-axle, 40-wheel trailer to haul that thing. I would love to know how much it weighs.
