Some of the final rafters on the north side....the spacing between them is uneven; somehow those pieces ended up being "warped". They will need to be straightened. This is best seen on the overhead view of the Transit Hall.

Both cams are working; their timing is uneven these past few days

Even if Beber's ISP is down, you can still access the cams the "manual" way.

In the background it looks like the memorial is nearing completion. There are freshly laid plywood sheets next to the tree planter pits. I would guess that this was to protect the concrete when driving on it with treaded equipment. However aren't the trees dropped in by crane?

Hi,

Can someone help to understand a phrase in the text? I am not a native English speaker trying to learn a construction terminology.

"Vertical Curtain Walling General
The curtain walling shall be manufactured from thermally broken sections, fully pressure equalised, aluminium alloy hollow box sections, sized and rebated profiles with no visible fixings to specialist design."

The phrase "visible fixings to specialist design" in this text is not quite clear for me. Do they mean visible fixings connected to the construction?

There's new plywood and braces of some kind being installed up above too, perhaps for the skylight?

I believe they mean that the brackets used to fix the curtain wall panels to the structure should not be visible from the outside. The wording is confusing, though, because the phrase "specialist design" seems to be attached specifically to "visible fixings" but in fact is meant generally.

EDIT: This was my 1000th post.

They are using small tractors to bring in dirt to fill in between the tree pits, under the plaza deck. Then they will put the trees in the holes.

Thank you for the reply! Yes, the phrase "specialist design" is confusing. I can't understand why they use it here, can I paraphrase it then as "specific structure"?

No, the words refer to almost the whole preceding sentence. Try removing the middle:

The curtain walling shall be manufactured [...] to specialist design.

It should mean that the curtain wall has been designed for specifically this project, that it is not a standardised solution.
