"Special circumstances" are simply irrelevant and certainly not what's motivating the ban (which was in place before '93, not to mention '01--the Port Authority has banned photography on its property since the '70s, to my recollection).

That's not to say banning photography is illegal. It isn't; the PA does have the legal right to ban photography. The ban is just moronic and grasping, the product of an agency that prefers the arbitrary use of power.

Really

I don't have enough posts to include the entire link, but I digress.

Nice to see the exterior progressing.

Hi, can we safely say the hub is "completed" now?

No. Still have some of the envelope enclosure to complete as well as the interior and skylight.

Point well taken: the ban may be a broad brush PA policy and not just WTC related - I was just trying to say that it might be even more justifiable on this particular site.

That being said I believe there was also a plot for an attack on the GWB, and attacks on train stations or airports would also potentially be devastating - even more so if the structure targeted would become heavily damaged and partially collapsed. So from that standpoint if the ban just deters someone from mapping the structure with photographs to study them and try to find a weak spot that would maximize the damage - then IMHO it's not so moronic, even if it clearly won't be the cure-all panacea best-ever solution either.

Personally I think it's one of this situation where "you're damned if you do, damned if you don't" and I certainly don't think that I'll be doing a better job at managing the safety on this sites (I certainly don't want the job) - so as far as I am concerned I will not be outraged and cry foul because of that ban.

Kinda hard to see, but all the side panels appear to be in place.

So any more word on when the passages and entrances at Church/Vesey and Church/Liberty (T2&T4) will open, or when the west passage will connect to the Path Hall? Sure could have used them last night during the rain for my walk from Brookfield Place to Fulton St station.

Otie,
The skylight would be normally closed? If yes, would it have kind of heating to withstand
snow loading?

Here's a closer view. Notice how the skylight sits differently on both sides:
