Public sector projects for some reason tend to move like molasses. Case in point is the Canalside development in Buffalo versus the HarborCenter tower.

Good to see!

There is still some kind of protective cover on top of the top cover-panels, isn't it? Looks not plain white. And the white colour looks different from the wings but this could be due to lighting.

Stunning oculus. I can't wait to see it finished. Outstanding architecture! Yet, the exterior result doesn't look 100% to me.

Yes there is a protective plastic film that should be peeled off once the installation is complete.

when will they finish cleaning T1,
it's been this way for months,
by the time they resume and get these portions clean, the top will dirty again

Weren't these panels supposed to cover up the "grey squares" on top of the glass and cover the edges of the skylight a little bit?
To me it looks like this is not the final cover-panel, but just some sub layer panel.

Could anybody comment about what's going on at this area? What they are building and when to expect completion?
Any details?

This is where the Performing Arts Center is going to be, it has no design yet because they are still looking for an architect to redesign it, it is expected to be complete by 2019

I'm betting that its construction would even be started by 2019!

Actually things seem to be moving along: http://www.wsj.com/articles/new-plan...ter-1445475664.
Hopefully things work out cause if 2WTC moves forward as expected this will be the only site left to develop (5WTC isn't part f the original WTC site, it's quite isolated from the site anyway).

I think you meant the new 5 WTC is isolated? 6WTC was definitely part of the original and new plans (well PAC now) and occupies about half of the same footprint as the original 6 WTC.

WTC 5 (if and when its ever constructed) will be integrated into the Liberty Park/Vehicle Security Center podium.
