The wall between the west concourse and the path hall is down. They might be opening something soon. Anyone heard when vessey street will open?

Very nice.

And that top view (captioned about the flag) looking towards the steps from far away really seems to give them a dignified age, like you see in all of the old, grand, structures. Its not futuristic, but it has a sturdy, timeless, grace.

The west concourse and remaining PATH platforms will open sometime in August of this year.

Not sure when exactly they will close it down and start, however I would imagine it to be soon if the remaining PATH platforms and West Concourse is also opening late August.

There's still quite a bit of foot traffic in and out of the temporary station. I cant imagine that same volume of people exiting out the T2 entrances, which are much smaller than the current entrance.

I'm a little surprised at the relatively light level of daily foot traffic to Fulton via Dey street passage. Perhaps its not well known that the connection exists? The T4 exit certainly seems to get a good amount of traffic.

Yeah I feel that once the West Concourse is fully opened to all PATH platforms along with the 4 and 2 WTC entrances and Dey Street, those will be plenty connections without the current temp entrance. They expect to have the temp station demolished by December, so we'll see.

I can hear the people in 7WTC and those who work in west Tribeca grumbling already...

It'll be great for commuters because it will force them to use more evenly spaced entrances, which will hopefully mean that Vesey Street won't be so clogged.

It's the most recent connection, so a lot of people probably don't even think about it or go anywhere near it. Once the temporary structure permanently closes, however, they'll be forced to think about it, which will ultimately be good for their commute. Upon being greeted with a construction wall instead of the grand escalator bank, they'll have to say to themselves "okay, where to now?" and find their way out (perhaps with the help of the posted maps), which they will then remember.

It's actually a great fork where West Broadway and Greenwich streets converge and intersect with Vesey Street. Most people will turn left and walk a half-block east to 2WTC, which is an infinitesimal inconvenience, as it is pretty much right next to the temporary portal, and some will turn right and walk two blocks west instead to reach 1WTC.

As of august or sooner, commuters will have six access points: 1WTC, 2WTC, 4WTC, Winter Garden (WFC), Fulton Center, and Dey & Broadway. Even without any portals on the actual Oculus being opened yet, these six access points are more than sufficient to access PATH, even in the worst of rush hours. By 2018, they will be able to enter through 3WTC as well (and hopefully One Liberty Plaza again someday). TriBeCans will be fine, and perhaps the Performing Arts Center (6WTC) will offer an access point someday as well for their sake.

I believe there will be an access point from 6 WTC (PAC) to C1 level of the very east end of West Concourse just before where the 1 train runs overhead.

Still wondering about entrance/exit on south side of T2. It's paved right by the doors, but doesn't connect to anywhere.
