I don't see a rib cage as much as I see wings spreading out, about to take flight.

The inside looks almost like a church, a piece of art. I tought the project has been cancelled years ago.

For me the transportation hub is the most interesting both architecturally and to watch being constructed at the World Trade Center. However I am rather worried, perhaps sceptical, that those interiors of the Oculus and Path Hall will be as light as the renders suggest. Anyone have any details on what must be quite a substantial lighting system? I have the biggest concerns for the Path Hall as it doesn't have any exposure to natural sunlight.

It probably appears more fascinating as long as 2 and 3 WTC are not built. After that, it will be dwarfed by the two skyscrapers.. actually it would fit better in a location with more free space around it.. the way it is, it will be dominated by its surroundings, instead of the hub dominating its surroundings..

Thanks.
They are stuck on the 104th floor since mid-June.

The reason being its exceedingly hot and thus under OSHA regulations are unsafe conditions.

However the work has continued in the interior of the building.

Weather has caused nearly 8 months of delay to this project.

From December 2010 - March 2011, no progress made due to extremely cold temperatures.

From January 2012 - March 2012, no progress made due to mild winter which caused high winds and icing conditions.

June 2012 - July 2012, no progress made due to extremely high temperatures.

If it were not for weather related delays, the building would have topped out on September 11, 2011 and opened on September 11, 2012.

Well, I believe in safety first. I haven't heard of anybody being killed on this project, and let's hope it stays that way!

I just realized something. If anybody has ever been to the gallery in Philadelphia. The set up(not design) is very similar.
The gallery has 3 levels of stores, and connections to subways, and comuter rail lines.
If anybody has seen it, thye know.

Very cool looking models! Any idea what kind of material the exterior will be made of? Looks metallic.

I thought that both sides of the Transit Hub were supposed to be the same size, like symmetrical?

Do you refer to the model used in the wind tunnel or the final structure?
