The video looks great. I'm trying to understand though after passing the Dey St concourse, where is the R train?! Are we over it or under it?!

New pics showing the construction of the arches and more activity above the path tracks. Lots of things going on undercover, wish we had some more pictures of it! Didn't know before there is so much progress hidden from the webcam's.. |

I'm willing to bet money this thing is going to be installed tomorrow ! (Saturday, July 31st) If anyone can get down there and take some pics and/or video you would be our Hero ! I would go there myself but the wife and I have a wedding to go to. ( No, the bride's name is not Chelsea.)
Pic by Sal Schiano over at WNY. ![]() Just a few facts about the section of plate girder. It's 7 feet high almost 6 feet wide, the estimated weight is 70 tons or 63,500kg, and it's about 50 feet long. The Calatrava archs well hang from it, as can already bee seen on the earthcam. It is covered in shear studs because it well be tied to the plaza level slab and a re-enforced concrete thrust beam . (The holes in the web stiffiner plates are for rebar to pass through.) Draegen, you're too quick.
![]() Well, they put it back on the ground. Hope you or someone else can capture the Earthcam shots of it going into place, as I've got to hit the sheets... Last edited by Swiddle; July 31st, 2010 at 05:50 AM. |

Bloody hell, can they possibly be setting it tonight !!!!
I thought sure they would wait until after the morning train on the PATH. Around 8:30am Saturday. OK, the earthcam shows the 18000 and the girder positioned for the lift. I think they well wait tell morning to actually lift it into position. I hit the refresh on the cam, and the girder is hooked up and off the ground. Looks like they well not wait tell morning. 12:50am local time Last edited by Zensteeldude; July 31st, 2010 at 06:52 AM. |

Two more arches waiting for their installation!
Does anybody know how they will manage to deconstruct the old station underneath with all those arches and beams/plate girder installed above? |

The 18000 is probably going to install a section of the north plate girder tonight, around 1am local time.

A temporary support for the position where the two plate girders will be connected is already up, hopefully the girder is following this night?!
@Zensteeldude: did you just draw conclusions from what you are seeing or do you have some more information about the timetable? |

Back in June I noticed that the "Google" plane was in the area taking new pics. Took me tell yesterday to check out the new pics on Google Earth.
