I don't recall ever seeing plans for what will be in the space between WTC2 and the Hub. I'm especially curious about the east part of that open area.

The intracacies of constructing the Path Hall Roof are considerable. A few short years from now, those who pass through it will remember it.

The street level crane pad is being dismantled on the earth cam revealing the beams underneath.

I'm wondering what the space on the (temporarily) topped-off WTC 2 will be used for... maybe a park?

Fulton Street runs through the area between 2WTC and the Hub. and just a pedestrian concourse between 3WTC and the Hub.

Wow, so much progress here over the last 6 months. I can't wait until they install the above ground arches!

Looks like some BIG temporary steel is being delivered on the earth cam. looks long[tall] enough to support the overhangs. new steel on the floor too.

KPI TV Cam off line

Anybody know why the cam over looking the transit hub at: http://www.video-monitoring.com/cons...itv/silver.htm has stopped updating? Nothing since Friday.

It still won't look good until all construction has ended. Including the Tower 2 and Tower 3.

No, A park would be a bad idea since there is a lot of construction going on in that area (Transportation Hub) And because there already is a memorial with trees Right across the street! Anyways, Earthcam remove their Transportation Hub Cam and now I can't see the temporary steel!

Yes, I went to the Memorial recently. I was thinking WTC 2 might be a temporary park, since you need reservations weeks in advance to get into the Memorial. And it would not be a park this year, but after the Hub is (nearly) completed.

I was just wondering what they will use this grade-level space for.

Anyone know if the 18000 is coming back to the site or are the large Favco's still coming? Curious as I seen a piece of it's jib going north on 1&9, can't think of anywhere else where it's needed.

I just had a thought, don't take it too seriously, because I see flaws with my idea. I wonder, could they have taken out the former crane pad because they plan on putting a crawler on the new slab? We all know how reinforced that slab is, and it will eventually support a road, so we know the underlying structure was designed with large shifting loads in mind. wouldn't an 18000 be able to reach over the spine [obviously minus the 'wings'] and install both the north and south 'arches?'

I guess you can say it's possible, but he would reach to where he use to unload in front the hotel because the boom + luffing jib at max angle would extend the radius of the hook block into church street and that's at the minimum radius if he is facing east. And he wouldn't be able to have the max-er unless they build temp. supports that could support 900,000lbs of counterweight...

Does anyone know the weight of the hub wings? My friend who works for J. Supor who hauls the bigger steel loads got 66 lines (axles) of Kamag trailers for WTC jobs, said they will be working non-stop, while 3 are at the site 3 will be getting loaded in Red Hook BK, some of the loads are 28 feet wide! Maybe there for the hub or maybe there not, still haven't used them though so what ever it is haven't arrived yet. Someone on here must know what there for.

What ever is going on with the old crane pad sure is interesting. Instead of hamming the concrete out they cut it with a wet saw and are even working over time on it.

The glass curtain walls sure are going up nicely on Towers 1 and 4. Does anybody know when 1 WTC will top out?

Thanks.
