Did I just see a LTM1500 boom? Still don't know whether it's for 3WTC or the Hub though.

I remember when they use to drive it around with the boom on... Things have changed

Could they be using it to remove the small link belt off tower 3?

I see what looks like a crane cab on the future Greenwich Street, right between 3 WTC and the Pavillion.

What's being built on the plots between the transportation hub and WTC1?

Yeah, I don't think it's for the TG1900. It's been removing formwork, and their are still a lot left to remove. Plus, they need to erect steel on that side too, so I think it still has work to do before being dismantled.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's needed to lift some beams that are too heavy for the TG1900. I really don't see it Hub related (even though we're discussing it here), since it's pretty far from the oculus.

Anyway, always nice to see this crane (back) on site.

Maybe we will see a luffer on the 1500? The small assist rig is still there set up in the middle of the street in the site.

Anyway, looks like the unloading ramp was completely cleared off of materials and the orange construction fence was placed at the entrance blocking it off. Maybe tonight we will see the mats placed on the newly poured concrete that they cleared last week?

I'm pretty sure they installed the first row of columns on the south side right before they added the western tower crane. Also, the'll need a bigger tower crane to install the eastern steel.

Progress at the Path Hall Roof

A few posts back, someone remarked that progress on the Hub seemed to have ebbed. On the contrary, there is much activity all the way down to track level, which is not visible from above and which contributes to what one will see and experience during a traverse of the Connector, Path Hall, and Transit Hall.
Out of public sight is an ongoing effort to provide mep and finishes. Among those finishes are the surfaces of the Calatrava ribs and vierendeel truss that support the Path Hall Roof.

Sweeping arches, graceful trusswork; unique. You'll come to like the space....

thank you for getting us back on topic. I believe they are going to set up a tower crane at T3 in the square hole that is full of light. Lets talk about that at the 3 WTC thread.

I wonder what the finish is going to be like in the roof. I wonder about things like: how will they make the corrugated metal decking look good to the public; are they going to fill in the gaps at the steel connection points before painting to make it look like one continuous structure; how will the ceiling be lit without countless shadows; etc. I hope we get photos for the eleventh anniversary. BTW I wish The Rising was a yearly production, because it provided a lot of detailed information. I bet it would cost a fortune though.

Would be great to have that, I often wonder if we will see anymore shows about the construction in the near future?

Looks like they are pulling the orange netting off the unloading ramp to remove it. Hope this means we don't have to wait to long until some big iron arrives and the rest of the hall starts to take shape.

there are two lines of openings where the underlying structure is visible through. I'm guessing they need to pour the entire ground level slab before they start the superstructure. I think someone posted a few weeks ago that they plan on starting the superstructure in late fall/early winter.
