They've slid the crane over and put in some more temp support towers to start assembling the flying stairs.

Did they move the truck ramp? On which they supplied the center cranes in the Hub with steel. Are they now done with supplying steel or is there a concrete poor planned on which they can supply the cranes?

Crane Tower Sections Arriving.

I believe we will soon know for sure where the new cranes are going to be placed. Tower sections are on trucks on the Church street side of the Hub.

Don't you think that it is for T3 site? I cannot imagine that they bring in more cranes before the old ones are disassembled. However, I'm no expert.

@GerFok: Yes, they removed the ramp some weeks ago, so probably all big steel pieces for the two sliding cranes they currently use have been brought on site.

I thought it was tower cranes sections too, but the white ones are just supports, like those used pretty much everywhere around the Hub right now. I'm not sure about the red one, but it doesn't look like any section of the 1280s I've seen. But I guess it has something to do with all the red steel that has been delivered yesterday by the LTM1500.

I still think it's too early to see the 1280s on site. They're just starting the flying stairs. By the way, a year ago, the final pieces of the 18000 were leaving the site.

At least one piece of that red steel has white writing on it. I'll bet it's part of a crane system, and that red also matches the sections that were delivered today.

Just guessing...

Something that looks a hell of a lot like a 1280 base just arrived on site.

it disappeared...

I wonder if they just pulled it out of Tower 4 and it was just sitting on the truck there for a while waiting to be shipped out?

BTW are those baskets custom built for each job? The International Gem building on 47th Street had rectangular baskets instead of the square ones we usually see. I posted a top-down shot of it last year on that thread, taken out the 10th story window of the building next door. The crane was so close i could practically touch it!

If you look on camera archive, at 11:02 same truck (empty) being parked by WTC4, and then at 14:00 you can see it parked by WTC4. It was a cage from WTC4 crane.

So I guessed right.

And it gets better. If you look at the 11:00 shot you can see the cage sitting on top of the setback on T4, only the top is visible. And in the 14:00 shot the other crane is lifting one of the remaining legs, while the 4th one is still sitting on the setback.

I went back in the archive and those pieces have been sitting on the setback since last Friday (the 14th). And the day before that there were some tower sections up there.

Can someone post pictures of the WFC trans hub entrance construction? The webs cams don't zoom in enough to see this interesting work!

I'm just wondering why they made a temporary steel level. Maybe as a protection for workers on the ground while others work on the top. It's definitely not in the final design.

They're also messing with the LR1200. I'm thinking they're just shortening the boom, but they might be removing it completely.

Edit: Looks like it's leaving.
