Are the plans of connecting air train with the transportation hub are still alive?

No, plans of connecting JFK were abandoned years ago as an effort to reduce the total budget of the project.

We're getting a bit off topic. If you want to discuss NY transit needs, this might be a good thread to do so, Infrastructure Needs for a Growing Population.

installation of the sub-portals are going a lot faster than i thought it would take, i guess its safe to assume that lower portals will start soon.

Lots of new subportals have arrived, looks like 19 or 20 are now staged at the site..

seems like they are getting some momentum, plus these cranes are picking multiple portals during unloading.

Will the Lower Portals be brought to the site in one piece, as the Sub Portals are?

Thanks.

Yes.

After reviewing some drawings, I just realised the retractable skylight was redesigned from the first version they came up after the elimination of the "moving wings", this new design is slightly different than the previous, looking more "connected" to the wings and -in my opinion- more beautiful.

Just checked the "Rising" cam WFC view. No evidence of ambulances on site. Perhaps they just happenned to be passing by when previous image was snapped?

No, they are parked next to the waiting subportals, two of them, visible on the 10:00 and 11:00 am snapshots. Hopefully nothing serious..

edit: on the 11:11 snapshot from 7 WTC they have left..

Here's the direct link for that one if anyone is interested.

To stay on topic, and since the Hub cam is pretty dead, here's a reminder about the "KPI clone cam" (direct link). At the current speed, it shouldn't be long before we start seing the lower portals.

That stationary cam in that site you posted does work, But on the Earthcam actual site they took down the link to that cam completely. Must be a bunch of idiots working and maintaining that site. IMHO.

Well that didn't last very long, The cam is pointed away from the hub AGAIN. Like I said before, What a bunch of idiots.

I half agree. They can't keep the MOST IMPORTANT cameras pointed in the right direction, can't seem to get people to fix them quickly, and then show that they are aware by adding and removing the links. BUT, all is forgiven when they start working again...

unfortunately, what's important to the readers of this site may not be what's important to the people who own and maintain the cameras!

I just find it hard to believe that all of these interruptions are "accidental." They're doing something they don't want us to see, IMO.

Probably for safety/security purposes.
