@Otie || Could you indicate in a render where these elevators are located in the project?

thejacko, what area are you interested to see? I can share a rendering.
im interested in the attachment of the glazing to the rafters and portals etc, how is the connection designed.

I can't share any type of drawing, but will try and make a cross section rendering.

Glazing is not connected to rafters, only to upper portal frames and the below section of the arch segment. There's a span of 5 inches between the inner face of the glass -which is 1 7/8" thick- and the outer face of inner flange of portal frame glazing pocket.

At the top, where it meets the arch segment, glass enters into the arch's steel 3 inches and there's all kind of gaskets, bolts and other materials that can't understand because of the missing of the legend sheet.

At the bottom, you'll be able to touch the glazing, where there's a grating space between the glass and the steel seat.

Glazing of the portals is rather uninteresting compared to the skylight project.

thanks, i think i understand

sounds like they may need these tower cranes to erect the glass if it is that substantial.

do you know any dimensions for the glass sections?

I've been away for several months and am wondering about a couple things... First, does anyone know what the schedule for the opening of the new temporary PATH entrance at the WFC is?

Also, in that animation above, it looks like the set of curving stairs in the Winter Gardens plans to be removed. Does anyone know if this is indeed the plan or just something they did for the animation?

They were, but for once the public outcry was enough to get them to change their minds. Although, with this video. I would not be surprised to wake up one morning and see them tearing the stairs down anyway. That would be such a huge mistake.

Stairs are being preserved, the animation was done when they considered in removing the stairs.

Those columns in the vid remind me of the futuristic trees in Singapore.

As you can see, portals, transitions and rafters are already coated to avoid a jungle of scaffold.

This can give you an idea of how the project will look when glazing starts between upper portals.

Those inside pictures remind me of the movie Aliens when the rescue-party is going through the different buildings and everything is covered with alien"stuff".

It would freak me out to walk in there. Looks like a human ribcage. (The underground part)
