I love how the site is looking! It has been great seeing it progress this past year.

But a quick question, can someone please tell me what those yellow boards are by the large containers?(church street side)

They've been laying them all over the floor lately, and I have no clue what their purposes are. Are they for better maneuverability around the site or part of the structure in a way?

Sorry, info outdated. I was told upper portals will be arriving during this month and will start going up during mid April. Sandy delayed the schedule.

It's still scheduled to open in late 2014 early 2015 right?

Early 2015 would be my guess.

Four more lower portals delivered, and they are also missing the lower part. That's 12 pieces waiting to be installed -- three per corner. Surely that's the last of them.

I've said for many years that the definition of construction is "delay."

But at least the Hub is taking shape.

An earlier poster said that work seems to have halted on 3 WTC. It seems they have set no steel or poured no concrete for weeks. But at least a few more oak trees have been set at the Memorial recently; they are barely visible in the upper left hand corner of the Hub camera image. Yeah unfortunately it's just interior stuff right now but they have until the end of this year to sign a tenant before they officially have to cap it so lets hope the next 9 months brings good news!

I count 8 spaces left for the large members, and only 7 on site for installation (although there may be one hiding behind the crane closest to the camera).

I would imagine that these last few will take more work to install because of the tight areas they're working in.

I count 12 portals/subportals there now.

Of course, we never really know when the images are updating.

There were 12 on site Tuesday morning. None were installed that day, none yesterday, and none today. I'm not able to watch the camera during the day while I'm at work, so I have no idea what, if anything, they have been doing for the last three days.

Wait, they did unload the 4 newest ones from the trailers sometime since Tuesday morning.

What would you guys think of rebuilding the Austin J. Tobin plaza fountain in the middle of the transportation hub? Koenig's Sphere and all.

I hope this is some kind of sarcasm. It's going on the park above the vehicle security center. Plopping an artifact in a sleek multi-billion dollar room...

I just wanted to know what people thought of the idea... I guess I now know your opinion on the matter.

I prefer to think of Koenig's Sphere as a damaged piece of art rather than an artifact unearthed from ruins.

I quite like the idea. Perhaps just Koenig's Sphere on a white marble plinth in the middle of the hall beneath the oculus, but as PMadFlyer pointed out it would probably disrupt the minimalism and tranquility of the environment. I would also be against it, purely from an aesthetic point of view.
