hkskyline's 2009 AMSTERDAM Photo Collection #1

After touring the western and southern parts of Germany, it was time to settle down in the Netherlands and explore around the country. Amsterdam experienced quite grey and rainy weather for the first few days of my visit, but the clouds gave way and finally the sun came out.

Blue skies really make a world of difference to the mood of a curious tourist.

With this weather, the frenzy to walk and photograph Amsterdam's canals begins.

The church interiors were not particularly interesting though.

It was quite amazing walking around the streets to notice many 17th century buildings. They were well-maintained and looked quite good for their age. Some exhibited a slight unnerving slant though.

Baroque!

I wonder what eras are represented in this scene?

This city is my favourite to see so many Dutch Baroque buildings altogether.
