soundproof the building from what kind of sound actually?

irritating sound of.....? the noise of the komuter nearby the masjid? the noise of people inside and outside the masjid? the noise of cars from all roads within masjid's proximity?

If it is Azan...It is only 5 times a day...the earliest will be 6ish am and the latest will be 8ish pm

Business travellers might sleep as early as 10 or 11 pm and might be thankful that there is a sound of azan to wake them up...well they are on business so wake up early might help....

leisure travellers may not sleep at all....they'll be out from 8ish pm and come back around 3ish am....so they might be so wasted that even komuter crashing at KL rail won't wake them up....

Am I the only one whom got the feeling that all these spammers have degenerating IQ or what?

If I have been a contractor since 1955 and I have my own team of award winning architects, of course I would use my own company punya lah. Do you borrow your neighbour's car when you have your own?

And since I own the hotel and I am developing it of course lah I am a developer also. Actually irate and angry and debating forumers I can tahan but stupid and silly people do get on my nerves at most times.

Shoot for the sake of shooting

I think this project will turn out great. YTL has impeccable taste when it comes to their hospitality project. We can expect a Raffles in the making.

The high rise hotel tower is an economic necessity to offset the massive cost of restoring and developing The Majestic back to its former glory. This approach is common in many great hotels around the world; the most prominent example would be The Peninsula in HK and The New York Palace. Both hotel retains their original hotel block, where all the grand suites and high end dining outlets are located. But they also have a modern high rise annexe at the back of the hotel so that they can have a larger number of room inventory (albeit, a cheaper and less glamorous one). These are the kind of room that becomes the hotel cash cow. Expensive suites are nice to look at, and will add prestige to the hotel but they are very hard to sell. We are not Paris or London, where hotelier can easily sells 800 euros room. Their hotel can be small and expensive because their luxury market is very established.

It is also easier to custom built a large ballroom (with capacity of 1000 pax or more) in the new annexe rather than to reconfigure the floor plan of the old hotel building (if there is a space to begin with).
