I like logo's that are simple, clearly visible and complementary to other methods of transportation in the same area.

The London Transport system is a good example:

Also the German logo's used in Berlin look nice in my opinion:

Paris also has complementary logos for the metro, RER and tramway.

The cityrail logo that you guys have posted quite a bit is now defunct.
it has been superseded by these in an effort to integrate all modes of transport into a common brand together with a new integrated ticketing system

Montreal's is simple and self explanatory. It's not the most famous, but it's the best one imo.

I have learned there's no accent on capital letters in French. So maybe actually it's wrong.

Well, not anymore.
Quebec has accents with capital letters since a long time but this change on spelling is recent in France.

I believe French orthography has been revised twice the past 30 years.

Well, technically (i.e., historically-speaking), you're mostly right. Why Canadian French doesn't exist like American English itself does has been a mystery. Back in the '60s at the dawn of the city's subway, Montreal's ('sanitizing') mayor Drapeau decreed that the word «Métro» always be coupled to the icon (I forget his rationale for this stipulation). Canada, as far as I know, has always used accents on uppercase letters. Minato ku was pointing out that this (Canadian) practice has been adopted in France's last adopted revision.

Why wouldn't a letter that normally has an accent not have one when written in upper case?

Maybe for aesthetic reasons. The accents stand out on top of the otherwise equally tall letters. On lowercase letters, they fit in nicely between the ascenders of the neighbouring letters.

If it would become an issue if accents on upper case letters can be used the Quebecois can always start using the word UNDERGROUND in stead of MÉTRO

Is it true that Shenzhen metro has adopted the logo of Hong Kong's MTR? http://www.mtrsz.com.cn/chi/
