you'd be taking away the north aspect of the building. that would be highly undesirable IMO. better to leave the site develop all theo ther undeveloped/underdeveloped sites in the CBD and then we can worry about this one when we really need to.

by the time other sites (powerstation, age, queen vic area) etc. have been built maybe the remand centre will have been moved and we can put a mega tower here without a compromised design.

from memory there is actually a shade cloth over the open area, so camera's isn't that big an issue. A couple of years ago someone tried to use a cherry picker to reach over the wall and whisk 2 prisoners away.
I wonder if the Police could build a new central station on the kwiki site, surely they would be the only organisation that is allowed to have a view of the MAP

I noticed today there is a crane up next to Citadines in Bourke St. Anyone know what it's for?

It's a structure with hydraulics, moveable joints, cables, pulleys and a big hook designed to lift things......but that's not important right now......

I think it's for that apartment tower with the image of a ship on its front? Though i think the ship is not happening anymore.

Comrandel or however it's spelled. Should be in east end thread.

Here is another great development site. Lets hope they keep this wonderful old warehouse as a podium.
21-29 Wills Street

Land Area: 705m² approx
Building: Two level building of 1,374² approx

Tenancy: Short term lease to Dec 2011 plus 3 month option

Outstanding opportunity to acquire this prime site located on corner position in a locality surrounded by high rise apartments and within proximity to Flagstaff Gardens

Doig are the architects, but their website is under construction (no pun intended)

It's going to be funny watching this one rise with absolutely no clue what it is going to look like or who its for.

This is an office tower isn't it?

Thanks Grollo

Here's 33 Mackenzie Street:

It's designed by Elenberg Fraser (i.e. Watergate, Liberty Tower, Elm, A'Beckett Tower, La Crosse) I'm sure it will turn out to be okay.

The building with no render looks pretty cool. Almost Fender in design, I approve and look forward to seeing it go up now!

M12 I listed this render a couple of times in different threads as I didn't know where was most appropriate! I agree it looks OK, nothing special but choice of glass is going to be the key here I think.
