Yet another apartment tower has been proposed. This one is at 58-66 La Trobe Street and will be the usual 41 levels high.

I am going to make a list of all these proposals because I just can't keep track of them all.

WHAT ABSOLUTE CRAP!!

Seriously, I'd rather they leave it as a carpark.

Anyway, don't these buildings exceed the height limits for this area?

I was actually warned that the proposals could end up like this by silvermb at the last meet.

I was hoping that he would be proven wrong, but correct he was, only I was hoping that they just wouldn't be THAT HIDEOUS!!

A new development proposal not sure if we've heard of before...

279 La Trobe Street
(just west of interesection with Elizabeth Street) at the corner of Sutherland Street
37 storey tower proposed.

about 5-10 levels of office space and then residential above.

37 levels would indicate about 110m add on plant and some higher floor to floor heights for the office component and it might reach 125m.

not sure who is proposing it.

another one in close proximity to Melborune Central tower (and being on Sutherland Street it would be a very near neighbour to Melbourne Star/Sky which are on Sutherland and LIttle Lonsdale)

They should be the final design...they probably just won't turn out as crap as they look.

It looks like that's the design that they're going with. I'll probably get shot down for this but I think it might turn out OK. The renderings aren't that clear but with an interesting balcony treatment I think it should turn out quite well. FKA are very good at this type of thing, think Republic and the apartments opposite the QVM (that I have momentarily forgotten the name of).
