The chuch was built in 1904 by the German Templars, later taken over by the Norwegians. I'm sure the windows are a much more recent addition. The church members probably want to acknowledge that it is located in a Jewish city/country. The church also serves a small Messianic congregation, who claim they are still Jews and celebrate Jewish holidays.

Florentin is a neighborhood in the southern part of Tel Aviv, Israel, named for David Florentin, a Greek Jew who purchased the land in the late 1920s.
The area's hip/trendy atmosphere has led to comparisons with SoHo and the Lower East Side in New York City.

Florentin looks like a cool place to live. It looks very similar to some central neighborhoods of Mexico City. I notice that balconies are extremely popular there, they're practically on every building! Beautiful city that one, my only complaint would be the big old distracting air conditioners on many buildings. Dean, you rock, great set of pics man.

btw, I looked up Tel Aviv on wiki and it says the city was founded in 1909. Is this correct? If so, the city is barely more than 100 years old! That is insane, and yet it seems like a much older city considering the historic charm. Tel Aviv appears to have more historic housing stock than much older cities I've seen.

I loved Jaffa, it was the last place that I saw in Israel before I returned to South Africa. We had a great meal at a little restaurant at the harbour - it was great. Thanks for the pics sweety, the NYE celebration looks like a real sausage fest - you must have had lots of fun
