Silver Dollar City is out in the middle of the Ozarks, has to be one of the most scenic theme park in the USA.

Most favorite is Cedar Point without a doubt, followed by Six Flags Magic Mountain and Universal Studios. Oh, and Busch Gardens are also quiet amusing.

Cedar Point is a hell of a lot of fun but despite its awesome location, it is really ugly.

You call cp ugly? you must not have seen the beautiful landscaping all around the park then. flowers everywhere. CP also tries to keep as many trees as possible when pallning new rides. This chump must have somthin against Ohio.
And CrazyAboutCities..... Best time to go is in May during the week. Anytime before the local schools get out. I have had season passes to CP for 10 yrs of my life and I know this.... Try going the second week of opperation you will be able to walk on all the rides |

The location of the rides is just a jumbled mess, a sea of black asphalt, no single theme with regards to aesthetics. I didn't say that it was run down or dirty, just ugly.
Here’s a pretty park, Busch Gardens. I worked here for a summer in high school. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gotta agree with you on CP. Comparing it to the rest of the bunch CP is on the lower end of asthetics and cohesiveness.

so your saying CP doesnt have theming?..... thats not true take a walk down Frontier Trail.... Old west themed buildings attractions and rides.
The sea of black asphalt or the parking lot your talking about is a necessity untill CP decides to use some of there off point property for a parking garage when they put in a monorail system. But that wont be for some time when they use up all the land in the park. Which honestly they do a good job of managing there land. The rides locations are a jumbled mess? yer crazy.... If CP didnt have it right then why do they win best park in the world 10+ years |

Why are you so sensitive to any critique of CP?! Spencer started off by saying CP was great but it had that one flaw, and you went on to name calling and assumed it was an attack on Ohio?!?! Sheesh! Last edited by Hia-leah JDM; June 27th, 2010 at 04:05 AM. |

I hope this doesn't turn into "theme park vs theme park" LOL. Cedar Point is perfectly fine but the big draw is the coasters. Other parks emphasize the theming and the overall experience. I suppose the opposite end of the spectrum from CP is Disneyland which is mostly a theme park experience...with a couple shitty rides.

Given the good reviews I have heard about Cedar Point I always wanted to go to but so far I never had the chance.
I think once Houstons new theme park opens up (I think sometime in 2012) it will easily be one of the top 5 theme parks in the country. http://blogs.chron.com/houstonshiring/2010/06/earthquest_adventures_an_eco_g_1.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Fhoustonshiring+%28Houston%27s+Hiring%29
