At least it seems to successfully capture the classical feeling. It doesn't feel Disney-esque.

Agreed. However, they did do quite an okay job making it fit in the Amsterdam cityscape and architectural heritage. There are many examples of mosques in the Netherlands that don't fit in and basically ruin the image of the city. There shouldn't be just guidelines for religious buildings of this magnitude IMO, there should be demands and regulations to make sure its impact on the city is as little as possible.

Very nice to see the Dutch classical style to fit even for mosque architecture, that's some impressive versatility. Surprised at how well the end product looks.
