McDonald's architecture, now that is something I never thought of before.

The mcdonalds branding really spoils this heritage building. Shame local council planning is not struct enuf.

They could make the branding more sutle such as the outlets in sydney cbd.

I have eaten all types of fast food all over the world and I will say Australia's fast food shits all over every other country - although PizzaHut is rather similar everywhere I have been. Maccas here is much more appealing as is KFC. KFC in asia and most of the US was disgusting - Australian KFC is light years ahead. Australia also serves their meal with less emphasis on sides and chips/fries form a larger part of each meal - BTW nothing can beat KFC chips.
blimey you need to get out more! KFC chips? That processed shit?! Go and peel then fry your own potato then taste the different. Anyway what the hell is McDonalds Architecture?! They just mainly inhabit existing buildings, as most posts show, then stick a sign outside. Most of it is pretty evil especially the cancer charity Mcdonalds! How messed up is that. Anyone still in love with Mcdonalds go and read 'Fast Food Nation' or if you are not up to reading go and watch Super Size Me!

I have an old story from my childhood 30 years ago
regarding this building. The story has a couple of intriguing
coincidences relevant to this post and this site.
At the time the story takes place this building was the
Plaza picture-house. I went to see a movie there one
evening with my mother and afterwards dined at an eatery
fairly new to the area which had opened not 10 feet
away from the picture-house on the opposite corner
of a small laneway.
Coincidence #1: The nearby eatery was McDonalds (the
first in the city I think).
Coincidence #2: The movie was The Towering Inferno!
Amusing eh?
Anyway, the picture-house was eventually driven out of
business by a multiplex cinema which opened about the
time my story takes place. It opened on the other side of
the main street directly opposite and thrives to this day.
The old Plaza building went through a number of
incarnations including being a roller-rink during the disco craze
of the late 70's ( I could be found there on any given friday
night during my teenage rollerskating-nut phase, whisking
along to the beat with the rest of the herd-on-wheels. End-
ess laps were done and many hours whiled away just
skating to the music). I believe the building was then closed
until McDonalds took over.
[Footnote: I sampled my first McDonalds thickshake that
evening all those years ago and lost a tooth trying to extract
some refreshment from the defiantly thick mixture].

In my city there aren't McDonald's restaurants. This is my province's capital-city main McDonald's:

The restaurant it's located in a renovated market, in the Old Town disctrict.

There are some restaurants more in malls around the city but there arent's very popular: one of those restaurants was closed some years ago...
