Do you think there is at least one of these malls up and running on the Kukatpally JNTU stretch? I could find only petty shops and wedding malls but not any REAL malls there. Not sure when do the "so called" proposed are going to be live

GVK One looking to open more malls

Hyderabad, June 4

GVK One, one of the large destination stores in the upmarket Banjara Hills, has completed one year of operations, registering leasehold related revenues of Rs 45 crore and logging business of over Rs 150 crore.

The promoters of GVK One are now scouting for opportunities to locate a mega mall in Hyderabad and hinted that they could also consider similar facilities in other cities. They are also planning to open such facilities in the two airport projects that the GVK group currently manages – the Mumbai and Bangalore international airports. However, no decision has been taken.

The Managing Director of GVK One, Mr Krishna Ram Bhupal, who is also director on the board of the listed flagship company, GVK Power and Infrastructure Ltd, said that the project was fully booked in less than six months of its commissioning in spite of the economic slowdown.

Apart from providing direct employment to over 1,000 people, the 7.5-lakh-sq.ft mall now features some of the top global brands that have come to Hyderabad for the first time. These include Mango, Promod, MAC, Aldo, Charles & Keith, Lerros, and Da Malano.

“Having stabilised the operations, we are now in the process of revamping the entire food court, which will then keep the visitors captive to the mall once they enter, be it for shopping, entertainment, movies, gaming or even fine dining. Visitors always want something new,” he said.

Mr Bhupal said the focus is now on identifying sites held by the group to explore the possibility of replicating the success of the GVK One. “Within six months, we will finalise plans for the new venture,” he said.

Footfalls in the mall range between 30,000 and 35,000 on weekdays and go up significantly during weekends. However, this number varies according to season. The new food courts will increase the footfall, he said.

None of the above malls you mentioned are set to open in the next 3 years.
Hyderabad is and always was a HYPED-CITY.

I'd go a step further and say these malls are never gonna come up.

Mantri plans new malls in Chennai, Hyderabad

Comes up with innovative scheme to boost sales.

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, June 23

Mantri Developers has outlined their plans to launch new real estate ventures in Bangalore (six), Chennai (two) and Hyderabad (two) during the course of this year.

The company, which has set up one of the country's largest malls in Bangalore, Mantri Square, is looking at launching two more of them in Hyderabad and Chennai.

“We are finalising plans for these two malls. Typically, each mall will entail an investment of about Rs 600-700 crore,” Ms Snehal Mantri, Director Marketing, Mantri Developers, Bangalore, said.

Speaking to Business Line here, she said, “even during downturn, we have not stopped investing in projects. Every project we start is announced only after securing all necessary clearances.”

Hyderabad project

The Hyderabad project, Mantri Celestia, which entails an investment of about Rs 350 crore, will have six towers of 24 floors each with 1,152 apartments. The project located in a 11-acre site, will serve as a new residential landmark for employees in the Financial District with a large catchment area. They now can buy a property which will enable them to walk to their work place.

Thanks in advance
