@WORLD8115 - No idea about multiplex in Forum. Until lanco mall opens this will be largest in Hyderabad.

@Kailash9999 - I had been to RK Cineplex first time yesterday and I thought it was great. Seating i felt was the best, sound system was also good. didn't like parking though. But yeah no mall attached so this is more for just going to a movie or eating at TGIF or Blue Fox.

Highly doubtful. It looks like a 2/3 screen multiplex according to plan. That blog post was written today with the same photos that Dilip posted.

I dont think 2 screens will qualify as multiplex (There is already 2 screen theatre in Kushaiguda named Talluri multiplex) Also I think the blog post confused 7-floor with 7-screen after reading this page

The experience at RK's Cinemax is not very consistent. But TGIF is just too good

The good thing about BIG Cinemas at Ameerpet is that you always get tickets over there. They keep some tickets aside as 'Corporate tickets' where they charge a hundred more than what they are legally allowed and give you some food coupons worth that much.

Inorbit is by far the best.

I don't know the status of City Capital now but I remember reading a twitter post from Asipac(which is handling the leasing at City Capital saying that 63% of the total space(1.1 million)) had been pre-leased and that it would start in April 2014.

Yes, forum mall is about 1 million sq ft. It is supposed to have service apts too, not sure how much of space it occupies. Inorbit I think is about 575,000 sq ft

Two more IMAX Theatre's in Hyderabad soon!!

Good that there is a seperate side entrance directly to the Theatre.

PVR at Central on the other hand has great seatings and ambience but looses out on the Sound Front, also the Brightness of the Picture is pretty low compared to the other Multiplexes, and yes Exorbitant Prices for refreshments is a turn off as well, so given a choice between both I'd prefer Big Cinemas to PVR for a Movie.

And I visit Cinemax for TGIF, not for the movies there, Great Seatings and Location but overall experience has some how personally not been worth writing here.

Also guys now that other Metros are finally getting a hand at the IMAX Experience, are there any sort of plans of another IMAX theatre in town after Prasadz ? Lanco should have included it in their mall, would have turned out to be a deal clincher for it.
Yes, IMAX will be opened in TWO more locations in Hyderabad in future......... got this info from this link.http://business-standard.com/india/n...-ceo/197975/on

I think, Inorbit mall,Hyderabad has a total built up area of 1.47 million sq.ft(14.7 lakh sq.ft). Probably, it has a Gross leasable area (GLA) of close to 0.6 million sq. ft.

CCPL Ramchandra, Malkajgiri

Here is the render for upcoming medium-size multiplex (3+4 floors) coming in place of Ramchandra Theatre in Malkajgiri. It is being done by Colonial Constructions. Dont know what the name CCPL means though. May be Colonial const. pvt. ltd.

Multiplex chain Cinepolis plans 100 more screens

Quote:
The Mexico-based multiplex chain Cinepolis, which has 49 screens in India, is planning expansion at various centres. The company plans to add 100 screens in the next six months.

Addressing presspersons here, Devang D. Sampat, Head (Strategic Initiatives), Cinepolis India Pvt Ltd, said around 100 screens of Cinepolis are under various stages of implementation.

Most of these screens would be ready for commissioning in six months. Some of these locations include Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune and Hubli, he said.
Reliance, Wanda unveil partnership

Quote:
Anil Ambani's sprawling Indian conglomerate Reliance MediaWorks Ltd and China's Dalian Wanda Group Co Ltd have announced plans to join forces in the cinema exhibition business in India and the US.

Wanda is the Chinese property developer that earlier this year became the world's largest cinema operator when it swallowed up the AMC theatres chain in the US at a cost of $2.6 billion.

The two companies revealed that they have signed a memorandum of understanding intended to lead to the creation of a strategic, long-term joint venture.

"Wanda Group and [Reliance's separately stock market listed subsidiary] Reliance MediaWorks will explore possible co-operation in the multiplexes business in India and the US", the two said in a statement.

RMW operates some 254 cinema screens in India, making it currently the largest multiplex operator in the country (though it will fall to second when PVR Cinemas's takeover of Cinemax India is completed) and a further 170 screens across the US. Wanda, which moved into the film industry only seven years ago, has close to 1,000 screens in China and a further 5,890 in the US through AMC.

Wanda Cinema Circuit was yesterday named as Exhibitor of the Year at the annual CineAsia convention in Hong Kong.

First priority of the proposed JV, however, is likely to be property development. The two said that they would develop Reliance Communications' Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City complex in Navi Mumbai, which has the potential for 10 million square feet of further building.

They are also looking at a similar sized development of the new business district of Hyderabad, India.
Anil Ambani signs partnership with China’s Wanda Group for township & multiplex
Quote:
Anil Ambani’s Reliance ADA Group has signed a multi-partnership deal with Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group, straddling the township projects and multiplex business in India and abroad. Dalian Wanda Group is one of the world’s largest real estate developers and with a recent acquisition in the US, it has also become the top multiplex operator globally.

Reliance ADAG has signed an MoU with the Chinese partner for development of realty assets owned by two group companies. These would involve a JV to develop integrated township projects in India including, but not limited to, commercial buildings and residential condos/apartments, hotels, retail space, etc.

These projects would include one located at the Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City complex in Navi Mumbai, owned by Reliance Communications Ltd. It covers an area of approx. 135 acres and has the potential for development of over 10 million sq. ft.

The other project would be at the new business district project in Hyderabad, covering an area of 80 acres. It is owned by Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, having unlimited FSI for development for commercial and residential purposes, hotels, etc., with plans to develop up to 10 million sq. ft. area in a phased manner.

These projects seek to leverage Wanda Group’s position as one of the top real estate developers in the world, having built over 130 million sq. ft. property in 66 integrated projects across 50 cities in China.

Wanda Group also happens to be the leading multiplex player in the world with over 6,000 screens, having acquired the AMC chain in the US at an investment of $ 2.6 billion earlier this year. Big Cinemas, which has lost out its top position in the Indian multiplex business after Inox acquired Fame and PVR recently struck a deal to buy Cinemax, also has a presence in the US.

In line with this trend, Reliance MediaWorks Ltd said that it would also explore possible co-operation in the multiplexes business in India and the US with Wanda Group.
