It's likely that Sports Hub have to be upgraded just for athletics while a separate new stadium has to be built for soccer.

Actually the problem for Singapore is really a lack of sporting culture to utilise these facilities post-Olympics.

Singapore will not be able to host the Summer Olympic Games nor the FIFA Football World Cup because we do not have enough numbers of sports facilities. We can however host events in conjunction with nearby countries, therefore a joint bid with Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand is the only way to see such major sports events held here.

It's a good idea. Maybe some of the u/c HDB projects can be sped up, so athletes can stay inside, move out after the games in time for the proper residents to move in?

A whole lot more money than YOG would be needed to invest to host an Olympic in Singapore.

Firstly, a brand new Olympic Village has to be build.
Secondly, we do not have enough sporting facilities that is of capable to fit for the Olympic games.
Thirdly, will all Singaporeans support the idea as a whole?

I personally think that we should bid for the Asian Games first before thinking about hosting the Olympics.

Me too, believe you two could joint force and bid for a summer game.

I think HDB flats could be used as the Villages. Either those already vacated due to SERS or those already completed but before owners move in

Those HDB flats need to be close to the stadium. And there would be seriously major revamping to be done with those flats to make it look presentable and world class.

We practically don't have any Olympic sized venue for all the events. The upcoming Sports Hub would be one that be able to cater to the needs. But more of such venues need to be build. Which comes to another problem...These new venues need to be sustaining even after the Olympic Games. And is Singapore ready to spend that amount of money that is much more than YOG at this moment, and if it is worth bidding for the games?
