Thats what I want.

Would hate having such a huge stadium only for it to be reduced greatly after the games.

Spurs Olympic Stadium plan dashed
By Peter Scrivener
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/othe...12/4360544.stm

Tottenham's hopes of moving to London's 2012 Olympic Stadium have been dashed after Games organisers said athletics would remain its core use.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had hinted the club might move to the proposed 80,000-seater stadium in Stratford.

But London 2012's Jackie Brock-Doyle told BBC Sport this would not happen.

"We are committed to building a stadium with athletics at its core. The aim is to provide a sustainable post-Games legacy for athletics," she said.

The stadium will hold just 25,000 people after the Games, when the other 55,000 temporary seats are ripped out.

I think this is good, London needs a purpose built athletics stadium complete with running tracks.

25000 will be fine for things like international meetings and so on post 2012, but 70000 would be horrible as they wouldn't be able to fill it for an athletics meet post 2012, so there would be no atmosphere and there is nothing like empty seats to kill a tv spectacle.

Good news. Should be an athletics stadium.

If any club get it it should be an East End club, that is to say West Ham.

OLYMPIC DESIGNS
http://icthewharf.icnetwork.co.uk/th...name_page.html

Oct 27 2005

OLYMPIC venue design specialists HOK have been drafted in to produce technical briefs for London 2012. The appointment will see a global architectural team from HOK - considered one of the world's leading design firms - prepare planning outlines for each venue in the Olympic Park and the outlying sites where permanent work is required.

Olympic committee chairman Sebastian Coe said: "The London Games will be designed for the athletes and will provide them with the best venues and the best conditions to pursue their sporting dreams in London.''

The HOK team consists of worldwide experts with experience of 11 Olympic Games

Shame

Its a real shame that the swimming pool is going to have to be redisgned or its quality reduced in order to meet budget. Obviously thats important but I loved the original design.

I think it's the organisers promoting their budgeting crudentials basically saying that they wont tollerate overspends. I think it will be no more than a small re-design. Well actually I pray it will!
