Algeria now is putting about 20 billions dollars to modernize the railway and build a new high speed lines, from the north to the south of the country.

New trains in Algeria will be in service soon between the Annaba (east) and Oran (west) passing by Algiers and many major cities on more than 1000km(160Km/h).

New Raillink between M'Sila and BBA

BORDJ BOU ARRERIDJ (Algeria)- The new railway line linking Bordj Bou Arreridj (240 km east of Algiers) and M'sila (248km southeast of Algiers) will be "shortly" opened to traffic, Transport Minister Amar Tou said Wednesday in Bordj Bou Arreridj. The inauguration of the railroad section will take place "at the same time as the rail motor car line that will connect soon the towns of Setif (300km east of the capital) to Algiers," the minister added. The railway line between Bordj Bou Arreridj and M'sila "will be students' wish fulfillment as the train will continue its itinerary until the town of Setif to ensure a service between the universities of the three provinces," Tou indicated.
