Why do they do that? To bring up their post count high enough to start posting spam links?

You are aware that the Intrepid is actually a floating ship aren't you? That combined with its age makes maintaining it a huge undertaking, much much more work than maintaining the 9/11 Museum. There's no comparison between the amount of work needed to keep the Intrepid Museum operational and what it takes to keep the 9/11 Museum operational.

Oh yes you do have a point. I was factoring in things like the ships and Space Shuttle are fully paid off, ie fully depreciated, paid by me and many other taxpayers (I should get a price break as a USC?). The Concorde was well beyond full depreciation and privately funded.

I'd LOVE to see the Shuttle, but the rest is meh to me.. I've seen ships and planes before, and only saw the shuttle when I was driving south on West 2 - 3 years ago, when it was visible. I kinda wish they had a way to pay (a fair price) to see just the Shuttle...

I guess they shut the water off on extremely windy days.. But, I too, have been sprayed more than once, usually on the east side of the North Pool for some unknown reason...

It was comical seeing people running from the water.

on the subject of trees, it's nice to see the canopy of green finally beginning to encapsulate the park. It was still patchy last year. Maybe next year it will all be green and no grey from an overhead perspective.

The north easternmost quadrant of the plaza appears to be 100% finished (finally) at this point. So why is it still blocked off?

I don't remember posting this one, but despite the glare in the windows (I think I can prevent most of that the next time I go) I love the sparkle of the sunlight in the South Pool... (5.28.15)

Is it just me, or are the trees looking much better this year? I remember being worried last year at how thin the leaf coverage was.

It looks like we have a new fence-line for July:

The current PATH entrance will be shut down in the next couple of weeks and they will begin demolishing it after July 4th.

That fence line won't stick around long. The transit hub is due to open in December.
