the street appears to still be closed, note the guards (yellow/green shirts) near the crossover.

Now, according to the photo, the passageway has been re-closed as well. What gives?

umm, I believe it is open for a set time period during the day (for now) It was closed at 6:30 when I was going to work, and at 4:30 to 5:00 it was wide open and very crowded, almost shoulder to shoulder near the Vesey Street gate, by the PATH entrance

NEW TREES......replacing the sickly ones on the north side of the north pool. My question is, how are they going to prevent a repeat of this from happening again? Will they install some sort of "spray guard" since it's been established that there is an unforeseen wind interaction at this particular location.......

I had promised a member I'd get some pics of the trees on the north side of the North Pool. This is from today 7.17.15 The space between the panels and the barrier was barely 3 people wide...

Thank you for posting the trees!

I am glad to see they are alive, but need a little maintenance.

And they replaced those trees last year too (at least some of them).

Thanks for posting the pics. My best guess (and I think it's quite likely) the anti-freeze chemicals put in the water during the wintertime poisoned, and then killed the branches on those north-side trees adjacent to the pool. This is evident in the tree in the foreground which has this condition but was nevertheless kept in place. Some sort of resolution to this problem will have to be come up with, otherwise this will be a recurring situation every year.

Those two trees looked fine a month ago (July 18th):

Anyone have a more recent shot of them?

Ahhh northeast corner of the memorial site is looking so lush now. Was there July last year and it was still fenced off.

For the most part the trees are really growing nicely. I still remember when the first saplings were planted. The plaza has come a long way.
