Had a look at the Earthcam just now, has the cladding arrived for the vent structures? There are 4 white-tarped trailers to the West of the Vents... Maybe I'm being too optimistic?

No, those are for the memorial pavillion. They use that section as a staging area.

Pardon my ignorance, but the memorial doesn't seem to have that many trees. The trees already have leafs, but it just doesn't look like the park rendered the animated renderings. Are they going to plant many more trees or won't they? Because it looks kind of strange that it has to open on September 11, in like four months, and it still looks very grey.

Probably still just over 300 trees to come, maybe a bit less. Not to mention the fact that these trees are still quite young, and the renders show rather mature trees.

The 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate

Source:http://www.theurbandeveloper.com/201...k-real-estate/

The New York Observer has released their annual publication of the 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate amidst a more optimistic outlook for the Big Apple compared to previous years.

In fact, the President was No. 1 in 2009 – a sign that the government was the only savior during the doldrums of the GFC.

Since mid-2010, New York’s real estate market has been buoyed by a number of major leases and transactions, including Conde Nast’s decision to commit to 1 World Trade Center which continues its climb to 1,776 feet.

According to The Observer, the list was chosen internally using subjective criteria; is overwhelmingly male and white; and predominantly occupied by developers/investors and public policy makers.

Here’s the top 10:

1. Douglas and Jody Durst - Chairman and President of the Durst Organization
2. Andrew Cuomo - Governor of New York
3. Marc Holliday and Andrew Mathias - CEO and President of SL Green
4. Steve Roth and Michael Fascitelli – Chairman and President/CEO of Vornado Realty Trust
5. Mort Zuckerman – Chairman of Boston Properties
6. Gary Barnett - President of Extell Development
7. Michael Bloomberg – Mayor of New York
8. Jonathan Gray – Senior Managing Director of Blackstone
9. Hu Jintao – President of China
10. Stephen Ross, Jeff Blau and Bruce Beal – Chairman/CEO, President and Executive Vice President of the Related Companies

And some notable mentions:

* Donald Trump (14) – Chairman of Trump Corporation
* Mary Ann Tighe (18) – Regional CEO of CB Richard Ellis
* Mikhail Prokhorov (24) – Controlling owner of the New York Nets
* Ric Clark (37) – CEO of Brookfield Properties
* Peter Riguardi (60) – President of Jones Lang LaSalle
