I love this shot, it just shows the sheer scale of the memorial park. Look how spacious it is! Room for all those people between a mere handful of trees! Massive

I was wondering the same thing. They did this to the north pool some weeks ago. It does appear that some sort of re-work is in process here.

I just realized that the blue covering may be over "hidden" windows in the pavilion. Notice the light shining through in the first picture.

Though it could just be reflections, a couple of the renders hint at this. (Please forgive my quick, lazy attempt to outline it.)

The blue pattern is different from the render, but other things are a little different too.

I don't recall seeing any renders showing the south or east sides of the Pavilion. Anyone know of any?

I think you're right Swiddle. I figured that the blue covering is just protecting translucent parts of the facade, and the grey covering is just over the stripy reflective parts of the facade. Maybe they decided to let more natural light into the pavillion, so they changed the design slightly.

This image seems to have a bit more contrast, showing the North face "windows" that you pointed out:

On the South side, you can see there are gaps in the facade that line up with the floors of the pavillion, so it must be similar to the North side.

Sounds possible, although I wonder about the strange pattern on the north side..

Correct me if I'm wrong, this vent is placed and built at the foot of the former Marriott Hotel (3WTC Building). A 22 storey hotel that was crushed into half (after the South collapse) and flattened as if a giant stamped onto the hotel (by North). I think it's being used for air conditioning and ventilation, right?

^Interesting picture, while the north pool is dried but with the central void wet, the south pool is wet with the central void dried.

Now the bad news:

NYC officials link human remains found at World Trade Center site to 32-year-old man

Quote:
NEW YORK — Nearly a decade after the Sept. 11 attacks, forensic technicians are still identifying pieces of human remains found in the rubble of the World Trade Center.

The New York City medical examiner’s office announced Thursday that it had successfully matched another set of remains to a 32-year-old man who had been assumed dead in the collapse. Officials declined to release the man’s name.

To date, authorities have identified the remains of 1,630 victims. Nearly 2,800 people died at the trade center on 9/11.

Wondering if the NS11M&M will include the body's name in one of the pool's parapet and how will they achieve this...

I think it is already included, they just linked the remains to the name, the bronze plates will contain all the names of the victims who were missed since 9/11 and supposed to be in the buildings.

"matched another set of remains to a 32-year-old man who had been assumed dead in the collapse"

Correct me if I'm wrong.

^ You're right, didn't have much time to read carefully that article. Those words indeed confirm that the name is already included.
