Remember when few years ago I asked myself how the 10th anniversary will look like. It seemed so far that days. Now it is hard to belive how much time has passed - 10 long years already. I've been waiting long and really wanted to see it on TV to experience once again but fate made me to be somwhere else on 09.11

I was only 8 when this tragic event happened. But it's one of those memorable days you will racall all life.

It's a weird feeling

I was sitting in car with mother and sister waiting for dad. He came and said "Have you heard about those two planes?". My mother agreed, and minutes later we all were looking at live report from New York. The moments when towers collapsed so strongly stucked in my mind than I can even tick the right film shots

Really wish that day had never come. Wish it won't happen in future

I will for sure never forget
Greetings from Poland

Jakub

Im curious though, Since they said there would be a dedication in the memorial. Where would all this happen? It doesn't look like theres any space for that with all the trees.

If you look at the second KPI TV cam, you'll see that they have erected a stage next to West St. I'm guessing they will close West St. (and remove part of the temporary fence) and that is where the audience will stand.

Something was happening on stage earlier today:

Indeed, West closes in less than three hours from now. From CBS New York:

When: Saturday, September 10 to Sunday, September 11
Time: Starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday
Location: West Street will be closed from Albany Street north past the WTC site.

I'm glad the footprint memorials have 45 degree angled corners just like the original towers, where the names are engraved......I'm glad the names engraved are not just alphabetical.......Trouble taken to join lost fellows, friends, family, workmates together. A hard task yet worthwhile for eternity. The whole world is with you now...........we are a less than a couple of hours of 10th of September yet know in New York time I have to wait another day till near midnight tomorrow till the anniversary is real.
I revisit my post now later afternoon on 11th Sept here but still late tonight Melbourne time till New York starts it's 9/11 Ceremonies. I will be watching on TV....
In future years I hope the tribute of light shines from the memorial footprints.
I come back now just as the US National Anthem is being sung at the WTC site NY.....live on TV here at 10.40pm Sunday night in Australia.....
Here is my personal tribute in my own living room.......

Fiterman hall even has an American Flag hung up. When is the Memorial going to be completely open? (As in you don't need a reservation?)

It looks like the lights in the center void of the north pool are lit now. And men are cleaning the south pool while the water is running.

I offer a moment of silence to the victims of the deadly 9/11 attacks. We are one with them. I am hoping that this day will be guarded by peace and unity as you officially unveil the 9/11 Memorial.

As I am currently catching up on my 'the rising' rebuilding the WTC the survivors tree looks incredible. And the story is amazing, I found the mans story rather upsetting that he only has a few years to live however before he died he wanted to replant this tree. Well he did it, that's enthusiasm. god bless you all. Here's one of many wishing I never had to witness such a sad and dark day. I was only 6 at the time but remember it well and the images I saw will always be on my mind. This memorial is a fitting tribute to what was there and most importantly gives all of those people, who were living there normal life, the recognition they deserve. RIP all victims of 9/11
