There is some work going on on the roof, but it's difficult to make out if they are removing some of the white tiles or laying something on top of it.

Looks like plywood or something similar. A very good sign.

Will they extend the accessible area of the memorial as soon as the NE part is finished, or not before they open the museum?

Btw, twelve new trees have been planted overall, 4 in the SW and 8 in the SE corner. Hopefully more going in soon in the NE corner.

Not really sure, a crawler will be located just west of Oculus when skylight project begins at this area, so it's not really intelligent to open NE section far away that reaches Greenwich/Fulton intersection until crawler is completely gone.

I imagine that by the end of the year when Tower 4 and the vehicle center opens those parts of the memorial on that end will become accessible right?

A huge mobile crane arrived on site and is lifting metal pieces up to the top. Roof work indeed seems to start! I'm curious how it turns out, especially regarding that part which is sticking out..

If just one crawler is installing the entire skylight, wouldn't it need to reach up 120'+ and east 300'+ assuming the only thing strong enough to support such a crane is the section of Greenwich St. just to the west? Could we be looking at the return of the Manitowoc 16000?

Manitowoc won't be here anymore. I don't have the specific data, but the same crawler will be first positioned at Oculus east area assisting on rail installation of skylight, then will go to west end to install rails. Rafters will then be erected and later skylight glass installation will begin.

As I said, I don't have the specificic info, but the crawler needs to have a large jib and lifting capacity enough to erect rafters.

Are Muslim Americans allowed entry to the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum?

Only if they reserve a free ($2 via online and phone) visitor pass, like any one else.
Visitor Passes

All persons believing in alternate religions including but not limited to Jews, Christians, Hindus, and Sikhs must pay $3 dollars, but $1 is immediately refunded without detection. If they do not order by phone or online its free. All theists, atheists, and agnostics must be screened at the entrance.

I hope that helps.

In "the land of the free," discrimination is permitted against Muslims, Italian-Americans, and homosexuals.

"Workers deliver White Oak Swamp trees from N.J., that will adorn the 9/11 Memorial Plaza at the WTC site."

Where did you get the info from the small font? There's nothing on the 9/11 Memorial site about religion. No Museum in the US can restrict access based on religion, gender, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, disability or creed. There's a myriad of laws that prevent such blatant discrimination. So whatever you got that small font, it's not true and patently offensive
