It is modern, super sleek and has a smaller shade footprint than an elevated rail.

Underground lines can do all that and better: no shadow footprint.

Not a lot smaller when Dutch safety standards come into play, and those super sleek beams are surrounded by evacuation platforms.

In any case, if you all take a look on Google Street View on the right-of-way of the light rail/tram line to Amstelveen, you will notice how wide it is, and how there is ample space for an elevated structure

There is no real advantage of an elevated monorail over an elevated railway here. The opposite, even.

I don't consider the ROW of the Amstelveenlijn 'wide' in any sense; above all, I don't see any way how an elevated structure would fix that, let alone a monorail. This all sounds more like the wishful thinking of yet another monorail enthousiast.

'All' the Amstelveenlijn needs, is basically what they are already (partially) going to do now, except they will be doing it for a tram: get rid of the level crossings.

For some parts it might be wise to go elevated a bit, for other parts it might be wise to go underground a bit. No need for fully elevated, fully underground, or monorail.

When has GVB completely retired the yellow livery?

As far as I can recollect, by 2002-2003 all remaining trams had been painted in the current white-blue livery.

The last Beijnes and Werkspoor tramcars, built in three subtypes between 1959 and 1968, retired in April 2004. Some of them indeed got the new blue and white livery (one of them is the preserved 665, the EMA Museumtram organization is working on getting it back on the tracks soon) but most of them remained yellow until the end. One of them is the preserved 602, which can be seen in action almost every Sunday on the former railway between Haarlemmermeer Station and Bovenkerk (Amstelveen), another preserved one in yellow is the 709, which is stored in a barrack next to the Havenstraat tram depot.

All 37 9G/10G "Blokkendozen" were already blue and white in 2002.

377 days to go, nice to see the details getting there like signage, chip card gates, it seems to look good and some of it already seems to be ready to rumble against the stream of almost 200,000 passengers a day (whole line). The costs were billions but it will be worth all of the money, I insist on that.

A new study was published on new metro extensions. With new city expansions the main focus is on:

-Zeeburgereiland: Huge amount of housing with suboptimal transit connections. New tram lines also considered
-Extending the Ring Line (M50) to Central Station to form a circle line or to Noorderpark, to serve a new big urban neighbourhood that will be developed in the current inner A10 motorway part of the city harbour
-A new East-West Line connecting Schiphol Airport to M50 at Lelylaan, M52 at Vijzelgracht, M54 at Weesperplein and Muiderpoort Railway Station (and maybe even Zeeburgereiland or IJburg)
-An East Line extension from Central Station (M52, M54) to Leidseplein, Lelylaan (M50) and Schiphol Airport

Amstelveen is getting a downgraded tram when it should get light rail service, like Line E of Randstad Rail (high floors, gate-protected crossings etc).

Ideally they would even build a subway and then upzone vast swaths of Amstelveen so it can get taller buildings and a population of 200.000.

You forgot you said pretty much the same thing on the previous page of this topic a few months ago? There's no need to state the same thing over and over again:

( "(click for pdf)" links to a jpg picture)

In the picture of the street over De Pijp there is some kind of microcar. What's this? I've seen a few of them (mostly grey ones) when I visited Amsterdam a while ago.

Updated the link.
It's a Canta, a small motor-powered wagon for the disabled. They mostly use low speed roads and cycle paths. Since you can drive one from 16 without a license, it's also used by non-disabled teenagers. Suprisingly, it seats 2.

Tram mock-up open to the public:
