is it just me seeing the elephant in the room in that this thread is more a strange PR and publicity stunt and seriously skewed and reality-distorting as opposed to a general informative fotoblog? After all, 90% posts are by one person, and the only 'nonpretty' pictures posted by Vandoren are a street lynching by Gazans...

I guess I might as well post pictures from Gaza out of context, like, say, Gaza at the time of the crusaders or the Ottomans, and the wonderful mosques and churches built at the time and coexistence between Palestinians, Crusaders, Egyptians and Jews sitting on a streetcafe. It seems time and place doesnt matter...

Are ALL these pictures from like, one Eid day of celebration prior to the Gaza siege?

btw, there havent been new cars sold in Gaza for the past 4 years since 2007, infact there have been no cars in any single car showroom since 2007, and the only car available is a yellow mercedes. Gazans have had to smuggle cars in from Egypt undersiege. So I take it these car showrooms are say, sometime in 2005? Or maybe from the West Bank?

Heres a seriously cool video of cars being smuggled ingeniously in through tunnels. And of course, if you'd like a real look at Gaza just look at the background in all videos. Also a pretty dependable source...

Yeah, apparently, there are those who refuse to believe that a picture is worth a thousand words. To them the facts don't matter and the pictures don't matter. What matters to them is their perception.

The standard of living in Gaza as unreal as it sounds is higher than in Egypt but who would even know? That overlooked fact would never make the front page news.

BBC will be last sourse that i'be used to find what happend in Gaza. It's very biased media not only about I/P conflict, but also about Russia.

These photos were taken from site palestian agency Safa

"Palestinians watch a new car that Israel recently allowed into Gaza, at a showroom in Gaza City, on Oct 13, 2010. Israel lifted the ban on car import in June, as part of a new policy to ease Gaza blockade and contain international criticism, but technical obstacles delayed shipments until last week. This one from another palestinian news site paltoday.ps

Thank you for your explanation. Some people want to see Auschwitz in Gaza. They reject your pictures because it is not what they want to see.

It is always comical to watch how the insatiable adversaries of Israel get desperate. Can somebody stage something bad in Gaza to satisfy their never-ending thirst?

Again, how many people in this world are aware of the fact that the Gazan standard of living exceeds Egyptian?
