Southampton, London, New york and QM2
My recent holiday on the Queen Mary 2. As i live in the UK i thought i would watch the ship leave Southampton, go to New York for 3 nights and watch it arrive, then board it to come back (dont worry there will only be a few pics of QM2).
Southampton I was lucky as the day the QM2 left 3 other large cruise ships left image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() Southampton Maratime museum, not that big but has a few nice models and a section on the Titanic which departed from Southampton image hosted on flickr ![]() Southampton is a weird mix of medieval ruins, grand georgian and edwardian buildings and then what are obviously redeveloped bomb sites from WWII image hosted on flickr

Very interesting! I think it´s the first time ever I've seen pics of Southampton.
Btw, is the dock Titanic departed from still in use for passenger liners?

I'm enjoying this. Southampton looks quite nice... I always love a busy port and medieval and edwardian buildings.

Mr bricks, the dock the Titanic left from is still in use. It was on the other side of the dock that the new ocean terminus was built and where the QM2 docked when i came back.
Southampton isnt what i would call a beautiful city Ajphx, but it is an extreemly interesting one with many historic buildings and is definately improoving itself. Its definately got more to it than your average port in the world. On to London image hosted on flickr ![]() My first time to the Tower of london, have been around it many times but never been in (you know what its ike when you live somewhere!). Was definately worth the money as there is so much to see, let alone it such an interesting and historic place. Southampton is a decent place, i would compare it to the many bombed cities you find across Europe except with alot more medieval structures.
I have added a couple of pics to the second post as well ![]() ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() ![]() ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr

I had the best curry I've ever had in my life in an Indian restaurant in Southampton. I also shagged a very fine looking bird from there.

Taking away one has dampened this, at least in the day anyway.
