Nobody wanted to copy Vegas. It's just a name, nothing more. How many more times to write you to understand?

By the way, la vega in Spanish means "fertile valley"...

Well I don't see anything special, except nice roof. But I don't see any interior - just white walls...

Russia Mall will have a nice dome as well.

Vegas has few atriums, but they are just not that big.

More than half a kilometer by longest side.

Nice piece on CNBC today about VEGAS. I had no idea this place was so huge! They had great pictures too. Congratulations Russia on a project well done!

This mall is precisely what's wrong with mall design; completely insular and with almost no natural light. It's like a sad interpretation of Las Vegas... if it were a giant, Italian-Canadian banquet hall in Vaughan Ontario.

"If you build it they will come."

Um, apparently not so much.

The original name was Kashirsky Dvor (Kashirsky Backyard). It was supposed to be named after district and highway.

both is the same word in russian and both suits well, as it's not a real backyard/courtyard. all depend on how you personally recognize it.

ибо это тоже можно завать задней частью района

I'm a massive fan of Russian architecture old and new. Here are my views on Mall Vegas.

1)Some beautiful touches. There's a lot thats bold, stylish and terrific about it.

2)Some parts I'd like to see modified/developed:-
- the nearby older apartment blocks- would be nice to see them reclad

-the outside area is a flat wall with bare stonework on the car ramps/bridges.
Perhaps this could be softened with trees/foliage etc. Perhaps insets/protruding decorative architecture should be added in some way. Im thinking of making more of the nice lake area etc.

-have the developers thought about smaller independent businesses? This is what gives a centre some of its charm and individuality.

- how about areas for youths/younger kids? eg sports/bowling/cinemas, etc etc.

Overall tho, I think its a terrific interpretation of the mall concept, and something many western malls could learn from! Exciting times for Moscow in numerous ways.
