If you observe the pics carefully, you will some part of the chawls in front of world one have been demolished. That makes the core look lot clearer n open as compared to earlier pics. The tree is no more there as well. Very soon the rest of the chawls will be cleared through some local sources there.

Nope, right side excavation is for sports arena and that 90 floor tower will come up in extreme left in this perspective.

Hmmm.... thanks for the correction IU . Queen tower is not a 90 floor tower but it is more than 100 floor (~105 or 106). Source for this is the pics of scale model posted by you in sept.

The current plan is for 90 storeys. Buro Happold (the MEP consultants of Lodha Place) updated their website 5 days ago with this:

Quote:
Rising majestically to 450 metres high this new development, Lodha Place will be made up of the world’s tallest residential tower with 117 floors known as “World one”. Nestling alongside World One will be two further residential towers the “World Crest” at 60 floors and the “Queen tower” at 90 floors.

Just hope the big boss of em gets a kickstart soon.

Got 50 crores? Consider Armani apartment in Mumbai.

http://www.ndtv.com/article/cities/g...-mumbai-172443

If you're recession-proof and are looking to spend Rs. 50 crore, consider this.Fashion legend Giorgio Armani is designing apartments in a building in Central Mumbai. Its promoters, the Lodha Group, say when completed, this will be the world's tallest residential tower. Apartments and villas will sell for between seven and 50 crores.

The World Towers project is reportedly worth Rs. 2000 crore. There will be two towers- --World One with 117 floors and the World Crest, which will be soaring over 700 ft. "The World One Towers is an all-encompassing undertaking that transforms our notions of architecture and technology, and is geared to create a new, highest-possible aesthetic
experience. From furniture to the finishes, has been designed to provide intimacy and create a sense of relaxation," Armani-Casa managing director Fabrice Gouffran said.

Abhishek Lodha said bookings have already started and nearly 60 percent of the apartments have been sold so far. "Even though we talk about a slow down in demand in the
real estate sector, we are receiving good response for the project," he said. The World One Tower, which will come up on the 17-acre plot of the defunct Shrinivas Mills at Lower Parel, which the Lodhas bought nearly five-years ago, will house three and four bedroom residences, lavish villas with private pools and some super-luxurious duplex flats.

Once completed, the 117-storey tower will be close to a kilometre tall, (1000 meters ??? dumb reporter) dwarfing the present tallest residential tower, Queensland Number One, in Australia that has a height of 323 metres.

The reporter must have forgotten to type in "half" in-between "close to" and "a kilometer". Problem solved. Let's move on.

Feb 01, 2012:
Lodhas unveil Giorgio Armani-designed Rs 50 cr super luxury flat

Another feather was added to super luxury living in the Maximum City today with high street Italian couturier Giorgio Armani unveiling an exclusively designed apartment in the world's tallest residential building, which can all yours for a cool Rs 50 crore.

Promoted by the Lodha Group, the Rs 2,000-crore World One project, coming up in Central Mumbai, is the world's tallest residential tower and will have apartments and villas designed by the Italian luxe designer, with a price range of Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 50 crore.

Unveiling the first sample apartment here today, Lodha managing director Abhisheck Lodha said, "it is a privilege for us to partner with Armani/Casa for the interior design at The World Towers. We are committed to providing our customers with excellence in luxury living and we intend to ensure that every single element respects the best standards of quality and aesthetics."

Giorgio Armani's interior design studio Armani/Casa, which also designed residences in Burj Khalifa in Dubai, will design the residences and common spaces of the Rs 2,000-crore World Towers project coming up in Upper Worli, Mumbai.

The project, which is expected to be completed by 2014, comprises two towers--World One with 117 floors and the World Crest, which will be soaring over 700 ft.

"The World One Towers is an all-encompassing undertaking that transforms our notions of architecture and technology, and is geared to create a new, highest-possible aesthetic experience. From furniture to the finishes, has been designed to provide intimacy and create a sense of relaxation," Armani/Casa managing director Fabrice Gouffran said.

Lodha said bookings have already started and nearly 60 percent of the apartments have been sold till now.

"Even though we talk about a slow down in demand in the real estate sector, we are receiving good response for the project," he said.

The World One Towers, which will come up on the 17-acre plot of the defunct Shrinivas Mills at Lower Parel, which the Lodhas bought nearly five-years ago, will house three and four bedroom residences, lavish villas with private pools and some super-luxurious duplex flats.

It will also have over five acres of landscaped area, including an 80,000 sq ft sports club at a height of 175 ft above ground and an observatory at a height of 1,000 ft or on the 99th floor.

Once completed, the 117-storey tower will be close to a kilometre tall, dwarfing the present tallest residential tower, Queensland Number One, in Australia that has a height of 323 meter.

Article on world one's public observatory

Quote:
Scan skyline from 99th floor

The city’s first modern public observatory will officially open in Lower Parel, 1,200 feet above the ground. As work begins on World One, the tallest residential building in the continent at 117 storeys, its sister structure, World View, will allow city slickers to stargaze and drink in the best view of Mumbai’s skyline

“Our inspiration was that all other world-class metros have these sky-high observatories that offer sweeping views of the city. So if Mumbai was to join that club, it too would need a facility like this,” says Abhishek Lodha, managing director of the Lodha group, which is constructing the landmark complex. “We also wanted to offer a facility that would engage the public, apart from just the people who live in the building. There will be a minimum fee to access the observatory, but entry is open to all,” he adds.

While this vantage point on the 99th floor will also feature a café for those who’ve made the trek, the bad news is you’ll have to wait till 2016 for the project to be completed. Though Lodha jokes, “Sometimes in India, four years may stretch to more.”
The concrete magnum opus also marks luxury interior brand Armani Casa’s foray into India, as they are the chosen interior designers for the duplex apartments at the very top of the World One tower, called Sky Mansions. The estimated rate of the mansions is around Rs 60 crore, with smaller apartments in the same building starting at Rs 9 crore. “We have incorporated Indian elements like prayer rooms in the homes, while respecting the tenets of Vaastu Shastra,” says a brand representative.
