Updated this. Also, it's good we put these in this thread and saved them, because one project so far (Colman Towers) had been put in this thread but is now being resurrected.

1800 Terry can be moved here as the former Regence Blue Shield building is being converted to a storage building.

Hmmm ... I'll leave things as-is until we get more confirmation of the project's dead-ness, or lack thereof.

Too bad about the Herron/Pagoda towers, would've been a great addition to the city's skyline.

I actually wish they would have gone in but one block north of where they were planned.

The Martin is two blocks north of where this was going. I meant immediately one block north.

You have anything else like that? And perhaps any information to accompany the photo?
Thanks for posting. Cool to think "What if..." |

The Arcade Center was proposed by Carma Associates (yep, that's right "Carma" with a C). I'd never heard of them before and haven't heard from them since. I actually found a whole, multi-page, slick, glossy brochure on the proposed buildings. It was supposed to be where the Russell (WaMu) building/SAM eventually landed.
I'll see if I have any other ancient proposals floating around, and post anything I find. I used to save a lot of this stuff. |

Here are some others -- all circa 1990 when, I think, the Journal of Commerce was sold in a newsstand near where I got lunch. So I could look at the front page every day and buy it if anything seemed interesting.
So... Pacific Towers (one of these actually got built but there were originally supposed to be two)... ![]() Hyatt Suites... ![]() 800 Second Ave... ![]() The Broadmoor...

And, of course, this is what it would have looked like if someone had decided to tear down half of Seattle and rebuild it to look like Boston.

I like that Hyatt proposal.
And although I'm not crazy about the design, having a big tower at 800 2nd Ave would look nice. |
