I remember that 800 2nd Ave proposal. I could be wrong, but I think it was a Martin Selig project. Was around 1990. I think there was a design change later on to something less flashy.
I also remember the 2nd Pacific Towers, woulda been neat. I don't remember the 2 hotels (well, maybe I remember the Hyatt??). Also around 1990 there was a developer who had a proposal for a copper-colored tower next to the Paramont. He also had a proposal for 2 big towers in Bellevue across from Bellevue Square where the Safeway was. I used to have newspaper clippings of all this stuff but got rid of them a while ago. Real bummer, I should have saved them.

If the presales were going so well, why didn't the second condo tower get built? The article makes it sound like a done deal.

I am not sure if that is true it is because the developer died before he could build a second tower.

6th and Wall/Icon Tower shouldn't be on this list. The developer said explicitly that he still plans to build it after he gets 8th and Seneca going.

We'll change it when we get more detailed info.

I didn't see any info about the Bellevue observation tower proposed back in 03-05 or so. It was supposed to be some 40-50 floors in height, but similar to the space needle in concept. I know that there was not enough interest and or funding. I wonder if anyone knows the name or has any preliminary sketches. Maybe it was supposed to be like the one that was proposed back in 07-09 for Portland Oregon.

That is exactly the one from PDX. Bellevue had something similar up for potential design review. I just cannot recall what it was called.

Don't forget about this dead project in Tacoma. Soaring to New Heights, or 'Needle Envy'? Los Angeles Times.

Your posts are very near annoying at this point. Perhaps you could refrain from exclusively talking about long dead projects...

Pardon me, but I do believe this thread is specifically for that reason. If you don't like my posts, you don't have to read them. I am not trying to annoy you by any means, so please do not take offense to my posts.

This is weird, I've been searching around and can't find anything about that proposed Bellevue tower. I think it was supposed to be around the I-90/I-405 interchange, and the design looked pretty weird.

Bellevue, let Portland, even Tacoma, build a tower. Please never build a tower.

2003-05 is getting kinda old for this thread. I don't think we started this section until around 2006 or thereabouts.

Hey wait! I posted some pictures on this thread from the 80's and people seemed interested. I don't think there should be a statute of limitations for "what could have been" projects. I'd love to see what people were dreaming up in the 70's, 60's, 50's, 40's, whatever if any information about them still remains.

If you want to post pics of renderings of really old projects in this thread, go ahead. But it's not like I'm going to include them on the front page.
