PM tables RM230bil 10th Malaysia Plan

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has allocated RM230bil for development expenditure under the 10th Malaysia Plan. The allocation will comprise 55% for the economic sector, 30% for the social sector, 10% for security sector and 5% for general administration........

To date, 52 high-impact projects have been identified for implementation. These include:

First: Seven highway projects at an estimated cost of RM15bil. Among the projects are the West Coast Expressway, Guthrie-Damansara Expressway, Sungai Juru Expressway and Paroi-Senawang-KLIA Expressway.

i think bullshit la..depa saja nak bagi nampak ada projek but i think this so called highway maybe just another 4 lane spur road from juru and prai industrial area to bukit tambun to connect to the currently under construction penang second bridge...

when i saw this i was like: huh?? do we need this? there are tons of other things to spend that money on

this project already approved la i think..just renaming it..konon2 it's planned under 10MP...seriously how go gonna connect the second bridge to the industrial area without this link...and they just put this so nampak banyak la project infrastructure

U mean Batu Kawan Expressway linking Penang Second Bridge to North-South Expressway?

Penang is a small state but still the government tries to built another expressway. Later, Penang will be full of highways and expressways.

most major infra projects have been planned years, if not decades in advanced... you usually don't dream up major infra works over months.

penang bridge was planned in 70's but announce in 80's
plus highway dreamed up in 70's but only started in 88
klia planned in 1990 but construction only started in 94
my dad still have this dbkl town plan book which have the idea of klcc. that was in the 80's.

so yes, most infra works in any malaysia plans has already been taught through years before it was announce, but the press certainly like to put as though it was planned over someone's wet dream...

yes, i totally understand that.. and between the planning and approval talking lots of crap

like what Arkdriver said in his last post, renaming it to sound new was what i was referring to as "nothing new"
