Considering our national security track record this is a very real danger. Or are our politicians brains too small to comprehend such a possibility?
So what you want? Should we Indians live in caves instead?

You are obviously not a skyscraper fan. why are you here? This place is not for skyscraper haters. Go f**k urself somewhere else.

This is a very valid question, don't let yourself be demotivated by haters

I think the main defense against such forms of attack is strength and heat resistance. This is a concrete building and concrete is the way to go if you want to prevent weakening through fires. That was what fell the Twin Towers on 9/11. I don't know the exact building requirements in India, but I think they are up to date and use the lessons learned by 9/11, just as is the case in most countries. Another aspect is airport security, about this one I don't have a clue, although I would guess that after the 2008 battle of Mumbai these went up as well. I don't think that building tall is in any way more dangerous than all other forms of buildings. Any building can be targeted by terrorists and I'd even say that a smaller building is more vulnerable since it isn't as strong as a supertall

The question may be "valid", but a bit silly in my opinion. How many skyscrapers have been attacked by terrorists in the last 100 years? We don't need to turn every skyscraper into a fortress because it happened once. It's just as likely a skyscraper will be hit by a meteorite, look at what happened in Russia earlier this year, should all skyscrapers be built to withstand that, too?

But it is a serious possibility and therefore in my opinion it should be considered in design. In my opinion all tall buildings should be made with the safety features One World Trade Center has introduced. All buildings should be built to withstand earthquakes, hurricanes and carbombs but tall buildings should be built so that they can withstand plane impacts as well. Safety should not be ignored just because something is improbable.

So should they be built to withstand Nazi UFOs from the Moon as well? That's about as likely as another 9/11.

Yet 9/11 happened. If it can happen once, it can happen a second time and in my opinion it is unwise to not prepare for that possibility.

The Twin towers could handle a plane crash and fire, it was an inside job. Not going away, I'm sure modern towers are stronger than ever.

Such things happen once because people were neither expecting them nor prepared for them. The same way you take a big gulp of red chili sauce out of curiousity once, and after you did it you know better for the rest of your life.

Exactly, they happen because people were not expecting them and were not prepared for them. And the only way to make sure that they will never happen again is to expect them and to prepare for them

Yeah, but what you are proposing is basically like combatting deadly gun violence by making everyone wear a bulletproof vest.

True, but to most people it is uncomfortable to wear a bulletproof vest, on the other hand there is nothing uncomfortable on a skyscraper having an extremely thick core from super strength concrete or a 50 meter concrete blast wall pedestal. So if it's not uncomfortable, but is very valid in making the building as safe as possible, in my opinion it should be made.

In my opinion, I do believe the same. There are some extremely jealous/hateful people from across India's Northern border. I wouldn't want India's first 400m+ to be affected by it.

Well it's never too late to take precautionary measures IMO. Can't they just incorporate an anti-aircraft gun in the crown?

Better safe than sorry my friend. There'd be a lot less abortions on this planet if more people thought like us.

...actually it has happened twice...both times to the WTC. If the 1993 bomb had been placed a little bit differently, it could have brought the South Tower down.

The precautions should be taken in direct relation to the profile of the project. The WTC remains the #1 terrorist target, for now. But that could change.
