Lively Warsaw

My photos of Warsaw could suggest that it's a cold city without much life, but it's not true. Warsaw hosts many events and they improve the real atmosphere of the city. So beside the architecture I'd like to show a Day of European Union (9th of May). I don't know how different countries celebrate it, but we do it that:

The Schuman's Parade (it's a name of the event) takes place on Nowy Świat street in downtown.

"Jeden świat" - "One world"

Ukrainian immigrants or students are very common in Warsaw.

The kids were really funny.

The women with a flag is a president of Warsaw.

BTW, 17th of July in Warsaw will be Europride (European LGBT parade, each year in different city) so I'll also took some photos. Of course all people are welcome to have some fun

Even in Brussels they hardly celebrate the European Union...
Nice idea anyway. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah it's like each gay pride parade but Europride is not national but European and it's the first time when Europride is in a former communist country, so Warsaw is distinguished.

I didn't post some photos in my last thread and I won't continue it, so I'll post them here:

I though gay parades were not allowed in Poland or not supported.

Situation really changed, especially since 2007 when was ellection. New government is also right-wing, but it doesn't afford being homophobic. The party, which was extremely homophobic during 2005-2007 candence in ellection got about 1%. Europride found sponsors, city will help with organising communication and safety, it paid for guide book about gay places in Warsaw. National Museum preapred exhibition about homoerotic art, many institutions will host debates and of course clubes will host parties. The biggest newspaper support it and polls show more people favouring than opposing. So considering Poland as very homophobic is a hurting stereotype.

I liked the skyscraper-cluster around Central Station when I visited the city some years ago. Fine towers over there.

I don't quite understand neither your intention nor what your moronic statment is supposed to reflect.

Great photos, Warsaw is beautiful city!
Hope to visit it once more - prolly during the holiday time.
Keep uploading them.

Greetings, Shep.

I don't understand neither, but I suppose it's a frustated cry of a Belarus guy... Sad...

My kind of city, maybe not the most beautifull and harmonious, but with a lot of character and strong identity.

I'm from Poland, and I suppose you are volksdeutsch.

Spain it's not Poland. Poland it's not Germany. Germany it's not Czech. Czech it's not England. One "country", one law is stupid.

As I know, Poland is deep-Catholic country. How it's possible in the such religious state?

Simply, Poland isn't such religious as you think
